Senate races 2026

I wonder if Stevens will be making any comments about the blatant anti-semitism of the President and the Right in general? Or does supporting Israel get you a pass on hating Jews?

I don’t for a moment buy that “antisemitism”, nor the perception of it, has anything at all to do with Stevens’ behavior. She’s a sore loser, and that’s the full extent of it.

It 100% is.

Still better than Mike Rogers, but there’s no denying it.

He didn’t tell her to fuck off. She took a private disagreement public, so he decided she was no longer an asset to his campaign. That’s an entirely reasonable political decision. In response, she decided to endorse MAGA. That’s not remotely reasonable.

But you can be certain that the Right is going to play this as ‘Even Democrats are saying that El-Sayed hates Jews’.

Emphasis mine.

Yep, it’s this:

It should. Any other hoops you want me to jump through before I call out obvious antisemitism?

What a joke. She endorsed MAGA. There’s no way this was about an ad.

@DSeid, you really believe this was about a fucking ad? She endorsed MAGA because of a third party ad?

That may be an excuse she used, but she endorsed MAGA because she wants El Sayed to lose.

She was bought, and until the GOP is no longer the party of grifters and con men, you can never convince me otherwise.

We all know the devil’s bargain one needs to make in Trump 2: “You can grift, but not as much as DJT, and if you get caught, that’s on you.”

She was bought. Plain, pure, and simple.

I bet we’re going to find out soon, as we’re celebrating AES’s win, that Stevens tried to take his campaign hostage and make demands about specific language he needs to use, and threatened to endorse Rogers if he didn’t comply. And I bet that, quite rightly, he decided not to negotiate with such a hostage taker.

If that’s the case, @DSeid, you really think he should have given into her demands after she threatened to endorse MAGA?

A federal judge has thrown out the Trump administration’s highly unusual attempt to block the certification of results from a key U.S. Senate race in Alaska if the Republican incumbent loses.

In a ruling released Sunday, U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason found the federal government does not have the ability to bring this lawsuit. It asked the judge to stop state officials from certifying election results to allow for an investigation into whether voters were confused by having two similarly named Senate candidates appear on Alaska’s ranked-choice ballot.

But Judge Gleason concluded that such a court order would likely violate Alaskan voters’ right to a secret ballot.

I suppose this could also go in the voting thread.

There is space between caving into demands and essentially saying fuck off. Enough of a bone. Again, something like this:

Instead he felt it more important to act the tough guy. No room to be diplomatic. Not on brand? Dunno.

From what I can tell in general a majority of Michigan voters vote by mail or early. Something that happens the Sunday before Election Day isn’t likely to move the needle too much.

But I gotta tell you, if I lived in Michigan and this was other than Trump possibly having a Senate majority on the line? The responses and lack of responses El-Sayeed has had would make me seriously questioning if I could vote for him.

We live in the times we live in. I hope he wins. But if he loses and the Democrats get the Senate majority any way? I won’t be too upset. I very much hope he is NOT the future of the party.

We already know she demanded specific ridiculous language, and the threat was at least minimally implied.

And yes I think that his being publicly diplomatic in response, offering a bone, would have been his best play.

100%. This is exactly how I feel about El Sayed at this point too.

iIf you oppose a single thing Israel does, does that make you antisemitic? But Israelis starve children in Gaza, it’s nothing to see here, move right along?

Hidden by Staff

Nope, thanks for asking, I’m glad we cleared that up.

Did El Sayed “oppose a single thing Israel does”, or does he refuse to even acknowledge Israel’s right to exist?

He was diplomatic, publicly at least. And she endorsed MAGA.

IMO your response to this is utterly ridiculous. She’s demonstrated she was not remotely acting in good faith. There’s no way to appease such irrationality.

It’s El Sayed. Not Sayed. Not Al Sayed. Not El Sayeed.

For Pete’s sake, is it that hard to get a person’s name right?

Warning for @BobLibDem, Do not start yet another Israeli debate in threads not about Israel. This is too damn blatant.

@Babale you’re borderline here, replying to a really off topic post is not staying on-topic. I feel like I reminder you of this in the last month or two.

I’m going to hide the two most off-topic posts.
