What do you mean by this? El Sayed’s single player plan is indeed further left than what most Democrats support, but that’s not really where the party is, so I’m not clear on why Stevens would feel not at home among the Democrats over that issue. Like most Democrats, Stevens doesn’t support a single payer Medicare for All system, but she DOES support a public option.
Not a thing.
Also not a thing.
Like most Democrats, she supports some level of assistance and forgiveness for student loans, but not across the board wiping out of the debt. Why is she supposed to feel out of place over that either?
Not a thing.
An idiotic slogan that I’ve been on the record criticizing, but I think that very very few Democrats actually want to abolish ICE. It’s “Defund the Police” all over again. If anyone should feel out of place in the party over this issue, it’s El Sayed.
It’s pretty clear that her issue is with El Sayed, not the Democratic party as a whole.
Do not laundry-list your hobby horse assertions in a thread that has nothing to do with what you’re talking about. You appear to be posting solely for the purpose of angering other posters and providing no supporting evidence or citations for your claims.

This is a permanent formal warning and suspension from this thread as well as a suspension from the board for a period of time while we discuss your future posting privileges.
You are back to using virtually the identical troll-like language you were mod-noted yesterday by me to stop using. As I told you then, moderation would escalate. Now it has.
Nate Silver addressed this in a post the other day; briefly, if the polls are approximately correct, or have underestimated Democrats, we should have a confirmed majority in both houses tomorrow night. If that doesn’t happen, the polls have underestimated Republicans, although our lead in the polls is large enough that we can afford to underachieve significantly and still win in the end.
Yes, and I wish they’d knock off the discussion about those two. Come on, it’s Election Day, Dixville Notch has probably already voted, and they’ll be cueing up the theme from Hawaii Five-0 soon. I can hear the drums already…
That would be the crown jewel for me. It’s more likely than some other races, but even as a cynic who is still not certain it will happen, it would make me happiest. I have several very liberal friends in or from Texas and they’re used to being shut out despite most of the big metro areas shading blue. I’d be thrilled for them to get a win.
I’ve been in Texas for all of my 54 years, and in my house here in far north DFW for 20 years. Talarico’s is only the second yard sign I’ve put out in that time, so like someone said above, I have my fingers crossed so hard that they’re hurting.
If he does pull it off, I can not WAIT to hear the crying and bitching about all the “cheating” and how it was “rigged by the Democrats”, in a state where Republicans have controlled every branch of government for three decades.
Same here. Partly because Talarico seems so good at his job. If he can show Texas that Democrats really aren’t the terrifying monsters the right makes them out to be, he might have, in future years, coattails.
Okay, thanks. So the NYT is just being click-baity. Rant for another thread. I’ll be out at a dance this evening, but I’m sure i won’t be able to restrain myself from checking the results from time to time. I’ll have friends handy-by to hug either way.
