We did this a long time ago but there are more members, and more pets, and more digital cameras and scanners and no doubt more people who want to see your furry, feathery, scaley or otherwise non-human companions!
All you gotta do is email me pictures – [EMAIL=opalcat@fathom.org]opalcat@fathom.org and I’ll put them into the gallery. Once they are up you can post comments to them directly in the gallery (like tell us who they belong to, for example ;)).
Two requests:
1 - please name your images something logical (your name or your pet’s name or something) not “DSC348.JPG” or whatever.
2 - please put “doper pets” in the subject line so that I don’t accidentally delete the email.
Each picture has the cat’s name. Download as many as you’d like.
There’s a clickable list of my other albums on the left-hand side. “Portraits” has pictures of my friends’ horses; any album with “Nicky” or “Pickle” in the title has pictures of my horse. Download at will!
All sumbitted photos are up so far–go label them before you forget!
The Sound Clips gallery is for music, voices, and even voices of pets… so go ahead and send me a clip
Eddy: could you email me specific image links or at least filenames? I really don’t want to have to go sorting through everyone’s homepage finding which picture to add, I don’t have time :(.
Okee-Dokeee Opal… I just emailed you pics of Minmei, our semi-new Kitty. Be forwarned… Everyone who looks at her gets snared in the feline psychosis…

Btw, please put “doper pets” in the subject line. I have a filter that looks for the phrase “doper pets” and puts them into a folder–it won’t get “SDMB pets” or “my pictures of my pets” etc… I get about 500-700 emails per day, and I mass delete like a demon. I use filters to keep my sanity.
(Oh yeah,don’t forget to go to the gallery and use the “post comment” feature to tell us about your pet! At the very least, give your name and say “this one’s mine!”)
Opal, I’ll send you individual stuff, as you request. Will have to defer it to the weekend, probably, but I’ll ship some out as I can. With eight cats currently, and 2.5 horses, there’s a lot of photos to sort through.
OK, tried to get a picture of my cute little hamster, but he’s too damn squirmy and quick, and my digital camera sucks, so it’ll have to wait until I can get a real pic and scan it, or get a better dig. cam.
No limit to how many, no… just don’t send in like 12 pictures of the same cat or anything. If you have 12 cats, and send one of each, no problem. And if you have 1 cat but are torn between 2 photos, 2 pics is no problem. You can slap 'em all on the same email if you want.
Size doesn’t really matter. The gallery resizes them on the fly to whatever size the person viewing them wants. Jpg is preferable, but gif and png are ok. Please don’t send bmps or tifs unless you really just don’t know how to convert them, in which case I can convert it for you (not a big deal, just easier if you did it first.)
