Yes, I know, love. I know my life will be significantly better. But she is so dumb! And then she tries in her dumb way to be petty and mean to the rest of us…ugh.
YEAH! I don’t need or want a talking head telling me something I can easily read for myself!
This is pretty much exactly the attitude that is making our world such a miserable place to live.
I don’t understand why there aren’t comprehensive medical databases in place yet, especially in places like Canada where we’re all under the same provincial healthcare system - there should be one listing for ME, and it should have all my medical records under it, and they should be available for any healthcare professional to access. I don’t get what is preventing this from happening, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t a good reason.
This happens at the zoo all the time, too (well, not the “tasting stations” part - that would be weird). I know kids like zoos, but they aren’t just for kids; they don’t have some kind of God-given right to crowd out adults who are also trying to look.
If you call and report the RV, you aren’t the bad guy; you’re just using the laws that already exist to let the bad guy know that he’s doing wrong. In my city, vehicles are required to be moved on the street every 72 hours; when I call them in, they get a sticker placed on them informing the owner of that, and if the owner doesn’t move them after that, they get towed. City streets are not parking lots; they’re for vehicles in current, frequent use. Don’t feel bad about calling this one in, especially since they’re blocking your parking area.
Seconded. A dollar’s worth of antibiotics now might prevent a really serious problem later. Plus a doctor will check to see if there are ragged edges on the toenail which need to be trimmed down for proper healing.
eHealth Ontario - today 2/3 Ontarians have a record but not all health care providers have yet signed on to use them so most of them are incomplete. The problem is that for them to be useful you need the majority of healthcare providers to be using them and most healthcare providers want the system to be useful before they train their staff and pay for the connect to the system. It’s come a long way but the issues are not technical now they’re institutional and people problems are the hardest to solve.
I think Nfld is actually further along the road than we are - less providers to convince helps I’m sure.
That’s what I suspected - bunch of protecting their little fiefdom jerks.
I ride buses all the time, and this has happened to me quite a lot (and playing music without headphones is indeed against the rules). One time, I told the bus driver that someone was listening to music without headphones, and that it was bothering me, so the bus driver just told me to sit somewhere else. Yeah, like that’s a solution.
I swear - next time someone does that on the bus, I’ll ask them to please use headphones. If they refuse, I am going to bring a recording of Florence Foster Jenkins to blast at their stupid ears.
I have this pulsing, throbbing in one ear- it’s driving me nuts! It doesn’t hurt, but it’s really, really annoying. Grr.
I might try and get an appointment tomorrow if it’s still bad- it’s a bit tricky getting one, as they will only take appointments on the day.
It doesn’t look bad, and it’s not getting any worse (or I would take it more seriously) it just hurts…
You should definitely do that. And video it. And put it on youtube. And then link it here.
Whoa that’s awful. I keep “shake yer dix” by Peaches handy. I will, one day, sit next to someone without headphones and share my own selection out loud. Still not sure whether I’ll share the reason for my demonstration and explain to them what their mother should have, or just sit silently and see what happens. I think about it often. Haven’t tried it yet.
I preferNohdrama. Why give them something familiar, most Americans have not really listened to traditional Japanese music before. Thoughtechnopop has its advantages.
I really hate my new job & it doesn’t help that Mr. J. got fired today… So glad I have tomorrow off, or I’d probably be joining him.
They are *counting *on you being a nice person, and they’ll keep taking advantage of you being a nice person as long as you let them. A day or two is maybe okay, but a week? Have them towed! Their (maybe) not being able to find anywhere else to park is their problem; stop letting them make it yours!
When my SO came home on Tuesday there was a cop car behind it (which promptly sped off soon as he pulled up, so he couldn’t talk to them). So I bet someone else called the cops.
In the meantime, I have also e-mailed my local traffic cops and asked them what to do.
Darling baby of mine, you are adorable and sweet and the light of my life. Why must you start teething behavior now, when you are not even four months old?? Chewing on everything in sight and drooling like a rabid dog are fine, but screaming inconsolably for extended periods of time … you make our hearts break. Two days ago, you cried for almost five hours, with only short breaks for your daddy’s sanity. Of course, you calmed right down for me. But today, when I’m the one with you before I go to work, even I’m unable to soothe you. I feel sorry for your daycare provider because she is going to have her hands full!
To all the idiots on the supermarket escalators. The escalator is wide enough for me to pass you if you park your trolley AT THE EDGE. The escalator is slooow, and the only way to travel between floors. Yes, as you have a trolley YOU have to wait around whilst we gradually rise little by little by little by little… but by parking in the centre you’re blocking me as well. Moron.
You know, I have never seen a supermarket that wasn’t solely on one floor?
I know someone who keeps a bagpipe CD in his car for when boomers pull up beside him with their windows open. I wouldn’t do that to the other people on the bus, though.
There’s a multi-story Harris Teeter at North Hills in Raleigh…I’ve been meaning to go check it out before Kroger wrecks it.
Wow, that’s hard core. I like it.
Fired the shithead doing my yard so I think I’m going to buy a mower and start doing it myself. I’ll let you take a moment to recover.
I’m tempted to get the riding type since technically there’s about an acre to do but I’m mainly concerned with the front yard and I need a push type for the edges and around trees anyway. I think I’ll get a 40v cordless electric.
