I gave a scathing review of High Potential here. We refuse to watch Elsbeth due to the way the network had popup ads during other shows for it.
Fisk reminds me of Frayed which is on HBO Max. Not the same story but similar humor and has the most wonderful Diane Morgan (Cunk).
I loved Mr. Inbetween! I watched it a few months ago, based on recommendations here, I think.
I’ll check it out!
There’s always Flight of the Conchords, but you’ve probably seen that. And it’s from New Zealand, so there’s that.
I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard good things about Colin From Accounts. Which, from its name, I thought was an office comedy, but it’s not, that’s just the name of the dog in the story.
Thanks all for the Fisk recommendation – just the right amount of goofiness for my taste.

I loved Colin From Accounts, as did 3 other people I recommended it to. Haven’t seen Season 2 yet.
I watched season 1 of Colin from Accounts and mostly liked it, though I hated the penultimate episode so much that it almost ruined the whole thing for me.
Didn’t realize there was a second season; I’ll probably check it out.
I finished Season 3 of the Lincoln Lawyer on NetFlix. I thought it did a pretty good job of following the plot of the book on which it was based (at least what I could remember), but, as mentioned upthread, the sub-plots and supporting acting left much to be desired.
But if there’s a Season 4, I’ll certainly watch it.
Is it better than s2? I thought that was a real disappointment.
I thought so, yes.
Re: Fisk. We started watching it. I thought it was going to be something like 800 Words or Doctor, Doctor. Instead got a low budget The Office. Saw 3 episodes before we switched to Nobody Wants This. May not go back to it.
It’s a low-key show. It grew on me over time. The plot develops over time, too.
Currently watching Rivals on Hulu. This is a UK series based on a 1980s novel by Jilly Cooper, a romance novelist. It’s well-done but as an American, some of the references are obscured by being dated or British.
Thanks, I’ll give it a go.
Continuing with Disclaimer on Apple after a hiatus to watch The Morning Show. Some pretty steamy sex scenes in the most recent episode. My previous post about it was before the plot line became clear. Basically, a married woman has an affair with a very young man who ends up drowning in the act of rescuing her son. The young man’s father seeks revenge in an interesting manner many years later.
Knocked out all six episodes of Season 2 of The Diplomat in one evening. The plot turns are eye-rolling but fun.

Something about s1e1 pulled me into The Lincoln Lawyer and I ended up binging s1 and enjoying it. S2E1 killed it for me. I can’t say why but something about it wasn’t as good. I think I’m also annoyed that he “Isn’t letting things go to his head” and “it isn’t about money” and then remodeled his office, his image, and kept looking at his phone answering the reporter. I don’t know if I will go back to it or not.
I started a rewatch of BSG2004 and completely stalled out on it. It got to the point for me in a rewatch, knowing there is no plan, and seeing things make no sense. Well, done for drama, not that make any sense. I’m a nit picker and usually I nit pick when I like something and my fifth watch of something makes me think of things differently and wonder why they did it. In this case, though, seeing and knowing the squandered opportunity makes this tough for me. There are other things I want to see (or read, or need to do) and I think about that compared to rewatching something that isn’t near as good or interesting to me.

Something about the Diplomat also pulled me into season one, which I binged again a few months ago to ready myself for season two, which I also binged. I don’t like the complete change of relationship between her and the foreign secretary and I’m curious what you find eye-rolling. That s2 ending, though? Wow! Casting was great and I love AJ and thought she did well!
Thanks for the discussion! Take care!
It’s not a “real” series, but an 8 episode show on PBS – Atlantic Crossing which was about the Norwegian Crown Princess getting sin the US with her children during WWII. And it dealt with how said Princess manipulated FDR to get help/aid for Norway. It’s very earnest, but, man, is it slow paced and dull. Plus it’s so obvious that none of it was actually filmed in the US. Kyle McLachlan does a decent job as FDR, but the actress playing Eleanor is not good. Also, FDR is played basically as a shallow hound dog who doesn’t care about international issues. And some of the dialog put into Eleanor’s mouth don’t sound like her at all. Since most of the scenes are private ones that would have very little or no documentation, it all seems fake and slanted somehow, and each episode is so slooooow and feels so looooooong.
We’d missed Wofl Hall when it first aired, so we’re watching it now. Such a difference! The episodes fly by. There’s not a lot of action, but the actors and all the political manuevering is fascinating. Mark Rylance is superb. He does and says little but shows so much.
