Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on

As far as dystopian future stories go, it’s pretty good. It’s well acted with most of the actors being unknowns to me, which I prefer. What humor there is is subtle. I especially like the Pez dispenser.

It’s only four episodes, but “Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office” was great.
Especially if you like David vs. Goliath stories.

On PBS.

I remember an episode of Babylon 5 in which the head of security, Mr. Garibaldi, was butting heads with the post office. Once guy with him was intimidated, and was saying “You;re talking about the post office here!”

Great News!!! The Rockford Files is available on Amazon. Prime members can watch as part of the membership.

I tried to find a streaming channel early this year. No luck. Amazon streaming didn’t have it. I considered buying used Dvd sets from Ebay.

Glad I didn’t

Rockford was a show that I took for granted in high school. I didn’t realize it was anything special.

It was years later that people looked back on it. That it was ground breaking and won awards. Rockford wasn’t your classic hard nosed detective. He avoided fights, didn’t carry a gun and showed fear.

I started with the pilot tonight. I’ll watch the seasons in order.

I remember it had problems in later seasons when Jim Garner had contract problems with the studio. Jim had injuries that left him in pain. Making an action show became burdensome.

Just finished Superstore. Better than I expected.

I’m a fan of the horror/fantasy genre …loved Supernaturals

I just rewatched it a couple of months ago and I still liked it.

Are you one of those weird people who get out of the shower to take a poop? (One of my favorite scenes)

I’ve been slowly rewatching Rockford and Columbo, which are still great. A little Quincy, too, but it isn’t as great. Eventually going to track down some Kojack.

I checked and Kojack is included with Prime.

I want to watch it too. I was a bit young when Rockford and Kojack premiered. Barely out of elementary school. The shows were in the last seasons when I started in high school.
Too late to grab my interest then.

Kolchak The Night Stalker is another great one from that era. But it only lasted a season. I think it may have inspired The X Files.

It’s Kojak without the C.

One season and its novelizations, two movies and their novelizations, and some graphic novels that I think were also novelized. I present to you: “Sherlock Holmes and Kolchak the Night Stalker.”

Sherlock Holmes & Kolchak the Night Stalker: Cry for Thunder: Gentile, Joe, Klauba, Doug: 9781936814732: Amazon.com: Books

I loved the first TV movie that launch Kolchack, but all the subsequent offerings were weak and weaker. I love Darren McGavin, though.

I’ve finally started watching What We Do In The Shadows. I’d seen a few episodes previously and it hadn’t really appealed, but it works a lot better starting from episode 1.

I’d thought WWDITS had ended with season 5, and was happily surprised when new episodes popped up on my DVR in October.

You’d think the joke would have run its course by now, but somehow it’s still freaking hilarious.

What are you saying?

There were separate series:

Kojak:

and

I’m saying that Kojak is spelled without a C. Which is why I said Kojak is spelled without a C.

Note that the season of What We Do In The Shadows that started a few weeks ago (the sixth season) is scheduled to be the last, with the final episode scheduled for December 16.

I had to rewatch season 5 and found it just as funny the 2nd time. And I’m enjoying Season 6 just as much.

I forgot the unusual spelling. Its been 50 years since I saw the show.

Don’t worry about it, I only brought it up because it was two different posters in a row who misspelled it. And then you mentioned Kolchak, which does have a C in it, so I understand the confusion.

Anyways, you may now return to your regularly scheduled programme.
