Anyone watching Ironheart, the new Marvel show on Disney+?

Had been review bombed for being “woke” so I really want to like it. But in ep 2 and deciding what else to watch … unless I get some reassurance it gets better? So far it is more cringe than fun.

I know it was canceled but I decided to watch Kaos. I’m a sucker for that kind of show. Now I really wish it was getting another season.

I have finished my run through of Better Call Saul (to s6e9), Breaking Bad, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and Better Call Saul (to the end).

I cannot imagine watching any other way. First, because I don’t think I could have made it through Breaking Bad’s first season without the promise of Saul Goodman’s return. Second, Breaking Bad explicitly or implicitly spoils many (but not all) major conflicts in Better Call Saul.

Anyway, if you haven’t seen Better Call Saul, don’t live with that regret any longer. Although you might have missed it in its first run, you don’t need a time machine to go back and fix things. You can make the choice to change things for the better, in the here and now, by watching the first episode of Better Call Saul today!

The lead is not sympathetic for me in her lack of morality, and also the actress is not actually very charismatic. She’s not carrying the show at all. Bit of a let-down, I feel she was better in the Black Panther sequel. Hell, her dead friend is more watchable.

We finished Dept. Q on Netflix. Overall, I would give it 3 out of 4 stars. We thought it simply went on for too many episodes, and there were so many characters (most of them with beards and Scottish accents) it was difficult to keep them all straight. By the end, I didn’t much care who had kidnapped Merritt or why. I just wanted it resolved.

That said, we liked how the lead character, Inspector Carl Morck, who began as a very unlikeable guy, was softened somewhat. And the rest of his investigative crew were made interesting enough that we would enjoy seeing all four main characters continue their work in a second season.

I watched the first episode, didn’t find it interesting enough to watch more.

I was surprised that it was only 6 episodes. I don’t feel like the story is over after watching that last one.

The wife and I just finished working our way through Brooklyn 99. I think it’s a fun series but its last season was truncated and it felt a bit rushed because of it.

Poker Face - We also started watching this and have gotten through the first 3 episodes. We’re enjoying this series as well.

Twisted Metal - We watched the first episode of this last night and found it interesting. Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz are driving around a post apocalyptic wasteland in a car armed with machine guns. Thomas Haden Church, Anthony Carrigan, and Neve Campbell are in it as well.

Same here. There is surprising number of unfinished Marvel and Star Wars seasons in my “Continue Watching” queue. Not as much of the shit Disney throws at the wall is sticking as it did a few years ago.

I’m watching the first episode of Ballard, so far it’s okay. Is her home at Paradise Cove from the books? I can’t help thinking it’s a nod to another TV character who lived there in a trailer. (Jimbo Rockfish)

I’ve been watching the fourth season of Transplant. It’s a Canadian medical drama airing on NBC in the United States. It’s not really very special but NBC started to air it from the first season early in the COVID pandemic, when its regular programming was suspended. I think some of the major networks broadcast stuff from their affiliated cable networks.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole pandemic, like how the late night talk shows like the Tonight Show or Late Night filmed from the hosts’ homes with family members running the cameras. And there were episodes of SNL filmed in the cast members’ houses or apartments. It was a weird time.

Watched the first two episodes tonight.

Interesting idea. Respected judge’s idiot kid runs down a teen on a motorcycle. Tries to help and panics. Leaves the scene and destroys evidence.

Judge takes the kid to turn himself in and learns the hit and run victim is the son of a crime boss.

Now the judge is involved in a conspiracy to protect his son. There’s also the twist that the judge’s wife died a year earlier. Making him even more emotionally invested in protecting his son.

The crime boss and his family are the victims. At least for now.

I’m very interested in seeing how this story develops throughout the two seasons.

It’s a intriguing  idea. What does it require to make a honorable character throw away his principles?

I watched this a few months ago. Very good show, IMO. Lots of twists and turns.

In the books, she’s an avid surfer. I’m reading the latest Ballard book, but I don’t think it mentions where she lives.

What could be a more preposterous place for a cop to live than the Hollywood Hills? How about a beach front home in Malibu? I can’t wait for the next spinoff where the desk sergeant comes home to his Century City penthouse.

At least in Bosch the explain how he was able to afford his place.

Isn’t that where John Nolan lives in The Rookie? Although it is loosely explained early on…

Currently working my way through the latest series of The Bear and just finished the wedding episode and honestly, even though all the characters in the show are dysfunctional, I’m impressed by the level of acting by literally everyone (and the ability to pull in big name stars too). They all really seem to find their groove and lean in.

I’m rewatching Better Call Saul. If anything, it’s better the second time around.

Apparently Sandman season 2 has started up, so a bit surprised there’s zero discussion of it here, in this or the original dedicated thread, unless (again) my search fu or Discourse’s wonkiness has failed me again. I’ll give the 1st ep. a go tonight.

We are 3 episodes in and it is terrific.

Foundation season 3 just kicked off… yesterday?
