I liked it.
I really like that heavy-set actor(Steven Henderson) Ted Danson becomes friends with. He was in Dune, Civil War, and Beau is Afraid and it is good to see him get a sizeable part here.
I loved Man on the Inside. Danson gives a truly excellent performance throughout.
I’m one of the rare people who did not like The Good Place - in fact, I actively disliked it - but MOTI was chef’s kiss for me.
I believe a second season of A Man on the Inside is planned. Also, it’s based on a true story, I think from Chile, told in a documentary called The Mole Agent. I think that’s also available on Netflix.
Vince Gilligan’s new show, starring Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul, has a new name, release date (Nov 7) and a trailer. It’s now called Pluribus, and you can watch the rather odd trailer at the bottom of this article:
Definitely eager to see this one!
I think the tone remains consistent throughout. It was good light entertainment.
That’s good news. I prefer a lighter touch in tv dramas
Grimm doesn’t have to kill every supernatural creature. Some individuals have rejected their heritage of violence.
Haha, that may be the shortest and least informative trailer ever released. As someone who thinks trailers these days in general reveal too much information, this one is a bit too scant even for me!
watched this last night. some of the surgery scenes were very graphic, though very interesting.
those same cases in the us… the medical bills would be unreal.
We are watching “The Librarians- the next chapter” and it is good fun. Not as good as the movie, of course. Anyway, they are basically doing Warehouse 13 stuff- grabbing magic artifacts and bringing them into the Library. Decent cast.
I had to be a little pedantic with a recent epi- they go back to 847AD, and some speak “English”. Well, real Old English is not much at all like modern english-
You can find Beowulf in Old English on You Tube
And also the Lords Prayer
Yes, you can kinda get the gist of it, right?
Of course this is a Fantasy series, so you gotta give them a break.
I have the entire Librarians -Next Chapter backed up on my DVR. I’m saving it for a friend who doesn’t have access to any of the channels where it airs. She was supposed to visit this week but banged up her knee Sunday night.
I’m going crazy.
ER was pretty graphic too, I remember a premature birth during a flood, and this was made by a lot of the same people, to the point that Chrichton’s wife is suing them over it, saying they’re trying to get around paying them for royalties
I don’t remember ER being as gory as The Pitt.
Although I do like some of the medical technologies shown.
I watched three more episodes of Grimm last night. They’re shifting focus to more personal stories. A girl abducted at 7 is found living in the woods a decade later. She is a Blutbad and her natural skills as a wolf sustained her. Monroe has a strong connection with her. I already see a lot of growth in Monroe’s character.
I find it interesting that Nick Burkhardt has no special fighting skills or training. He learns about his Grimm heritage in the pilot. He can recognize supernatural creatures
For now, he’s just a cop with special insight. That may change in later seasons.
I made the mistake of lifting my pause on Hulu to watch “The Bear”. These have been the longest half hours of my life. Episode ten (the finale), in particular, was an exercise in masturbation for everyone associated with this show. What the actual fook were they thinking. I wouldn’t want to have anything to do with any of these sorry, self-indulgent, mental morons. Way to fuck up a perfectly decent series, knuckleheads.
Sorry you didn’t like The Bear but if your pause is still lifted, there’s plenty more to watch on Hulu. In particular, I liked Only Murders in the Building, Future Man, Reservation Dogs and The Orville.
My tastes obviously differ. The finale of season 4 of The Bear was pure writing for theatre - just people talking in a small, somewhat claustrophobic space, fighting and dropping revelations and going on emotional journeys and coming to resolutions then adding another person to the mix and doing it all over again. The cigarette passing was a particularly nice touch IMO. And it followed on from the theme of apology/forgiveness threading through the whole season: Carmy and Claire, Carmy and his mother, Carmy and himself, Richie and Frank, Nat and Francie, Sydney and her dad, Marcus and his dad, etc etc.
Yes, all the characters are miserable and mopey but then that’s true of a vast number of successful television series. People don’t seem to like television shows about happy, well-adjusted families.
I’m definitely not a fan of Only Murders and don’t understand the love for it. It had its moments, thanks to Martin Short, but over all didn’t do much for me. I’ve seen ResDogs, but not the other two.
There’s lots more on Hulu that I didn’t mention. I’m sure you might like other stuff. But I also paused my Hulu account for months at a time.
Yeah, I’ve watched a lot of shows on Hulu, but they seem slow in adding new content that I’d watch, so I pause them for long stretches of time. It’s the same reason I ditched Max.
