I really dislike that they did that. That kind of ambiguous titling of movies is always going to be an easily confused problem after a few years pass, but they never consider that.

I caught up with episodes 4 and 5 of Task.

I’m still enjoying it. There’s a scene in ep 5 that reminds me of Columbo. You’ll easily recognize it in the episode.

I like the bonus clips. It’s jarring to hear the odd accents coming from the actors. They’re using their natural voice in the extras.

Two more to go. I may wait until both air. I rather see the final two in one evening.

And it doesn’t help the one without the The, which was released first, was so awful that I bet a lot of people refused to watch the good one,

Yeah, I enjoyed The mentalist, but I didnt like and often skipped the Red John episodes. The idea of a super genius serial killer is ludicrous.

Yep. When they had one on The Rookie those were some of the worst episodes.

Not awful IMHO, but not good either. A few good moments.

Some random lines from recent episodes watched:

“For you ladies new to the House of Guinness, the rule is that copulating couples are not to be disturbed, and should be cleaned around.” - House of Guiness

“If I’d had supernatural powers, the crabs wouldn’t have exploded.” - One Punch Man

Mild spoiler for Season 2:

“You think I got this buff looking at books?”

looks good and I haven’t a clue where it is going

I so agree with this. Stick with the story about Gein. I get that Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre may have been based on Gein. Fine, throw in those facts, but the switching back and forth is super annoying–and MOST ANNOYING is that guy who is (over-)portraying Hitchock!

Wait, “We” are the Monsters? And Gein Wasn’t a Monster? Super interesting.

They have Gein saying into the camera “you’re the one who can’t look away.”

(Though somehow I managed to do just that halfway ep3/8)

The Morning Show, with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon is a show I originally enjoyed very much, but this current season is a bit lacklustre. All the backstabbing and power plays, all the secret affairs and complicated relationships, the soapy melodrama is starting to wear on me. And then every so often we catch a glimpse of the show within the show, and it’s just lame Breakfast TV, all facile gossip and shopping channel crap. Who cares about those dumb shows?

I think it would be far more interesting if it was about Evening News like 60 Minutes, or Late Night comedy, or even a sketch show like SNL. A morning show just seems so weak.

Absolutely agree. It’s really tiresome; I’m just hate-watching now (my wife still likes it).

I started watching The English Teacher after seeing the glowing reviews here, and I’m really enjoying it. Just the thing to tide me over until the full season of Slow Horses comes out.

Colin Farrell show where he plays a P.I. and tries to find a missing girl. Episodes are only 35 minutes and it kind of worked for this show. Very interesting show that took some twists that were definitely unexpected.

Check it out.

I’ve just watched episode 13 of Gachiakuta and holy shit was that an emotional roller coaster. Not for the faint of heart.

I enjoyed it too, and it was renewed, but as yet there is no release date for season 2. Filming began in February.

Yeah, should be pretty interesting based on S1 ending.

Is it original? It could have been a graphic novel or regular novel adaptation.

It was an original script written by Mark Proosevich, which is great because there no danger of spoilers. This show really flew under the radar; there is so much quality work coming out these days, so it’s not surprising when it happens. Colin Farrell and Amy Ryan are terrific and it’s great cast, all around. I’m really looking forwards seeing where it goes next.

New season of Amazing race continues to be a snoozefest, with the Fabulous Furry Sikh brothers crushing it- they even stepped aside to let the #2 team take a #1.

The first three teams are so far ahead that when they had to stop for TOW WHOLE HOURS for the first challenge, the #4 team still didnt catch up with them.

The hapless and useless :”wimp & wuss” team was so far behind they didnt even let them finish.

Worst season ever, showing that people good at the craptastic show Big Brother arent any good at a show requiring real skills.

I’m watching Boots on NFLX. Marines in boot camp trying to make it through. Yeah, it’s been done and done better, but I’ll probably slog it out.
