Just watched the first episode about a sexually transmitted virus that turns you beautiful before making you spontaneously combust. The remarkably attractive pair of FBI agents on the case leave no mystery about what 1990s TV show it gets its inspiration. I’ll keep watching.
My wife and I are watching and finished season 1 last night. Good, not great. Moments of hilarity and even moments of drama, but not as funny as Scrubs…nor as effective as a drama.
Steal (Prime, 1se., 2026) Blurb- An ordinary office worker, Zara, finds herself at the heart of a heist; a typical work day at a pension fund investment company is upended when a gang of violent thieves burst in and force Zara and her best mate Luke to execute their demands.
We’ve seen the first episode and it’s alright. We’ll continue.
I thought it was pretty harsh on Katherine/Lexi, although quite why she left Anna in the woods was a bit of a mystery when it was her that tried to help her… also felt for her husband Richard (ok, he had an assault charge in his past so was not a nice man, but it sounded like it was dismissed(??) ). Others have pointed out that there seemed to be no consequences at all for the men who actually committed the heinous act, which is a very good point.
Oh, for sure. It was important for the story the male detective didn’t solve the case. In the beginning the intrepid Lieutenant Priya was trying to solve the case and was getting close when the Detective told her, “Relax Boston, this is Dahlonega (Georgia)” the meaning being here in this small town things are always exactly as they appear. Alice was able to get away with this BECAUSE this entire town thinks it’s clever and criminals all dumb.
The explanation for Lexi’s lack of aid during the rape was explained by the last episode in the instance of the sailboat and the dying sister. Underneath her plus sized jumper and awkward behavour Lexi is a complete psychopath.
Watched the first episode of the season. I was a little surprised by the time jump. Edward was in a bit of a out of the frying pan into the fire situation. At least in the first episode that wasn’t addressed.
Mrs Hall’s son who she had been estranged from until he went off to war.
The first time you see him he’s wearing a HMS Repulse hat. If you know history then you know that’s not a good sign. Sure enough at the end of season 5 the ship goes down and his fate is unknown. Mrs Hall finds out he was rescued but he is wounded and recovering in Singapore. Singapore at the start of 1942 is not the place you want to be. I have not seen the other episodes yet. I don’t know if anything was mentioned. Maybe they just want you to assume he made it back to England through the war torn Pacific without any further drama. When they mentioned where he was I assumed there would be further story there.
Watched the first two episodes of His & Hers last night. They’re parceling out information to us, the audience, in slow drips and drabs. Done well, that can be a surprising and suspenseful storytelling technique; done poorly, it’s just frustrating. I haven’t yet figured out which this is.
Season 5 ends at Christmas 1941. Their timing is a little off since the Repulse was sunk by the Japanese on December 10th. Season 6 opens in May or the end of April (depending on how many days are covered in the episode) of 1945. Even though they aren’t holding close to the source material I do believe that the original books also fast forwarded through the war.
