Having finished the latest season of Rick and Morty we’ve started President Curtis. It fulfills the function of “more R&M episodes when you’ve run out of actual ones” but I’m not convinced it’ll last more than one season.
As it happens, neither are Rick and Morty

I got a bit hooked on the Daryl Dixon spin-off series, even after giving up on the Walking Dead franchise long ago. It’s well done, despite the zombies. I’ve just started S3 on NTFLX and am enjoying the story line.
I love he got to France in a total post-apocalyptic world. I accept it for fun, but it is pretty insane.
I forget how many people are on Earth post zombie breakout, but it’s a very low number. Over 95% of the Earth is gone, I think. We aren’t doing cross-Pacific trips.
I gave up the last two seasons of TWD series, I couldn’t remember who was who, there was a deluge of characters and the spacefilling (which was always a problem with 6 episodes of script and 16 episodes of a season) became stupid and I didn’t care.
If there was any spinoff which I expected to be crap I was thinking it was Daryl’s one (aka the unwashed grunter). His whole purpose in all TWD was to appear to save people when they have the idiot ball, by firing an arrow through a zombies head (not without the obligatory slow crawl/struggle to show off the zombie makeup), then retrieving the arrow and grunting. I’m not sure he said a single word for at least five seasons.
He still does the grunting thing and the arrow thing, but he actually has dialog and the series has some decent writing. Basically, he and Carol are trying to get back to America from Europe and running into some interesting people along the way.
This always was the major appeal of the Walking Dead: the weirdos who are not dead (the walking dead not being the zombies). At one point the showrunner forgot this in the main series, and I think Angela Kang was the one who ran it when I found it unwatchable. But she appears to be the showrunner on this, perhaps she learned…
Finished Nurse Jackie on Netflix a couple of days ago. Liked it quite a bit. Edie Falco is great as the title character, an ER nurse who’s addicted to various pills, mainly painkillers. She’s top tier at her job, but you don’t want to get anywhere near her horribly messy personal life. I can’t help, at times, but think she might reflect a bit of Hawkeye Pierce, in the sense that she’s willing to go to whatever (melo)dramatic lengths she might see as needed to do whatever’s best for the patient, and fuck the rules. Zoe Barkow is one of the most appealing characters I’ve seen in television. I really like how her character develops over the run of the series, and Merritt Weaver absolutely nails the role. Consistently.
She won an Emmy for it in 2013. Her last name is spelled Wever, by the way.

I remember her being really good in Unbelievable as well.
Following the link to Wikipedia, I see it’s on Netflix. I’ve added it to my list.
Betty Gilpin got her main break from this and played a greatly annoying doctor very well.
I liked her in this pretty well. Also in GLOW.
It’s me again, the old watcher of old TV series, just to say I’m still enjoying the original (1957-1966) Perry Mason, and I’ve now seen a couple of dozen episodes of which at least two had not a single courtroom scene in them, contrary to my early memories. Though of course most of them do, and feature the Real Killer confessing in an agony of remorse.
They all end in some light-hearted closing scene. One I saw recently convinced me that the writers really, really hate insurance adjusters. It’s a complicated plot but there’s one scene where a slimy, mousy bespectacled insurance adjuster offers Mason’s client, injured in a traffic accident, an out-of-court settlement of $2500 (probably at least $25,000 today). Against Mason’s advice, the client accepts.
Later it turns out that the insured wasn’t responsible for the accident at all. Perry, Paul, and Della are opening champagne in his office in celebration of winning a case that’s only tangentionally related when the mousy insurance agent comes into the office demanding his cheque back.
Perry refuses. The insurance guy claims it’s illegal to keep the cheque, and Perry confidently informs him that since his insurance company has already disclaimed any legal liability for the accident as a condition of the settlement, it’s perfectly legal to keep the money as basically a free gift. “But then I gave him the money for nothing”, says the mousy guy. “On the contrary,” Perry says, “my client thinks the world of you!” as they shoo him out the door and resume their champagne.
I love cute little scenes like this! 
I am midway through episode 1. So far, my biggest note is… Eddie Marsan‘s accent. Ick. Did they tell him to do a southern accent because they didn’t think he could handle a straight American accent? Anyway, he’s obviously not an American, and his accent is a distraction in every scene he is in so far.
It’s pretty great (and also frustrating). The book it’s based on is even better.
