Wow, that’s a blast from the past.
Astins and Ingels were later reunited on an episode of The Addams Family.

I love Young Sheldon myself. But having grown up in Texas myself and lived there all the way into the late 1980s – the time when the series begins, although I believe they are in the early '90s now – I know without a doubt that genius or no genius, any kid who openly expressed the religious doubts Sheldon does on the show would have had the Holy Bejesus beaten out of him pronto.
Well, I finished bingeing this once I finished Wednesday on Netflix. The overall plot is that rather than AI, Uploaded Intelligence (UI) will be the next big thing. The best and brightest are offered immortality in the cloud and cue shenanigans. Heavy on religious allegory, but an interesting take for the most part. I’d say I liked Pantheon as much as The Peripheral.
Having finished Wednesday, I’ve been working my way through A League of Their Own, a.k.a. Everybody’s A Lesbian. I mean, I like the characters and the actors and all, but it does seem rather single-minded in its focus while being remarkably light on anything to do with playing actual baseball.
Also watching Archer, season 13. Rather tepid, although who knew Pam would turn out to be the competent one of the bunch?
ETA: I did like the “Mr Bank” joke though.
I recently watched all 7 seasons of Bosch on Amazon Prime. It wasn’t perfect, but it was watchable. I watched the first episode of Bosh:Legacy last night and not sure I’ll continue. So many of the regulars from the original series got left behind, the tone is different, it just seemed flatter to me.
I suggest reading the books by Michael Connelly. Very well written, good plotting, great characters. The series sort of mashes several books together, but still a good job. The new Legacy series doesn’t impress me. The actress playing Maddie is just. . .wrong. That Gen Z dead-eye stare is annoying in the extreme.
HBO is dropping the third and last season of His Dark Materials (8 episodes). So far, I’m enjoying it and it didn’t take long to get back into the story (haven’t read the books, so I have that going for me).
Cowboy Bebop (2021). I watched this mainly because I had watched the original anime (2001) and wanted to enjoy a little more of that universe. Unfortunately, although I liked a lot of the visuals and the casting was OK, it took itself too seriously. It had fun moments but it just wasn’t as enjoyable to watch as the original. I did not hate it, but I doubt I will re-watch it, or recommend other than as a bit of curiosity for those who have seen the anime.

Tried to watch Wednesday. Just not my cuppa, I guess.
Just a heads-up that season 2 has started for the pokey ponies.
We just finished season one of The Great, it was fun and easy watching so into season 2
Now that season one has dealt with all the tedious character development and premise setup, season two of Slow Horses can jump right into the main story. The first two episodes have been fun despite the horror of watching Gary Oldman consume a bowl of noodles - almost as nauseating as his stocking feet.
I loved The Good Wife so when I saw that The Good Fight was available on Paramount/Amazon I immediately dove in. The first 4 seasons were really good. I am now on the last season (6) and I’m not sure I can get to the final episode. It has gone off the rails in whackadoodle land.
That was my take, as well.
It’s a sitcom with some sitcom tropes, but I’m loving Abbott Elementary. Great characters, good dialog, and at least one LOL per episode.
It’s set in a public elementary school in Philadephia. Janelle James as the school prinicipal is my special jam.
Quinta Brunson is awesome. I’ve not seen the show, but have read her book.
As a former teacher, I appreciate the way Abbott Elementary pegs and (only slightly) exaggerates the personalities typical in an urban school, but it’s trying too hard to be The Office. My new drinking game is every time Mr. Eddie makes a Jim face to the camera.
Yeah, he overplays his reaction shots.
Is it worth watching to the end? Is there some fantastical thing that happens in the last episode that will make me say, I’m glad I stuck with it?
