Setting up a blog vs Setting up a website

There are so many free services on the web these days: flickr, youtube, google maps, and the like, that is seems there should be free webhosting that doesn’t suck. And by suck, I mean have horrible bandwidth limitations or terms of service.

Is there a free webhost out there, that will give me unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth? One that will let me install my own applications?

Or in this Web 2.0 era, should I combine all the free services into something like Blogger, and then embed all of my content from other free services? My site would likely consist of blogs, photos and such anyways, so why reinvent the wheel? Do those services offer unlimited bandwidth?

One note of caution:

You get what you pay for.

I haven’t heard of any truly free hosting - that is, without advertisements, etc.

Blogger is probably your best bet if you want free. You can totally customize the look, and do a lot with it.

You could also try Google Sites, although I haven’t tried it myself. Also, the other day I was playing around with this new service Roxer which was kind of fun, but might not be as robust as what you’re looking for.
