seven dwarves on dashboards?

A couple of weeks ago I asked of the significance of hanging a cd from the rearview mirror and its associated geeky look.
A similar question…
I’ve seen cars driven by (I think) folks from the Phillipines with little toy dwarves (as in Snow White and the Seven) on the dashboard or blocking the rear window.
Is there some cultural theme here?

All I can say is that this may be due to McD’s recent promotional giveaway?

don’t think it has anything to do with McD’s, as this phenomenom I first saw a year or so ago. Again, only in cars driven by people of (apparently) Phillipines origin.
