Seven Psychopaths

Surely I’m not the only person here to have seen this movie. What did you think?

For the record, I knew nothing about it going into it other than that Christopher Walken was in it, and that I suspected it was going to be violent. I didn’t even know it was a comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a perfect movie, but some really fun acting and a lot of fun to follow.

Anyone else?

Yeah, I saw it, too. Definitely an interesting film and an entertaining ride. It kind of reminded me of “Adaptation” in the way that it was a movie but even in the movie, it was a movie, but not really but kind of also. I was a little disappointed that the ads stole the movie’s thunder by showing a couple of the funnier lines, though.

Just got back from seeing this at the theater - I thought it was really funny. Not as good as In Bruges, which is one of my favorites but really liked all the actors- especially Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell.

I was not a big fan of In Bruges but so many people were that I figure my perception was off.

Liked Seven Psychopaths much less. Had most f what I did t like about In Bruges without any of the stuff I did. Not horrible, by any stretch, and I liked Walken but just vaguely bored throughout.

If you are curious, we did have a small discussion of the movie in the recent “In Bruges” thread. I think that is how it did not get its own thread.

Here.

Loved Seven Psychopaths. Enjoyed but didn’t love In Bruges.

The cast was just phenomenal, start to finish. A sign of a good movie (for me) is that I’m completely immersed, start to finish, absorbed in the story line without my mind wandering or being distracted by other things in the theater. I’m glad Woody Harrelson’s making a comeback of sorts too.

One of my favorite laugh out loud lines had to be (I’m paraphrasing) when Sam Rockwell says to Harrelson’s girlfriend “he probably gave you something” and she slaps him and leaves and he corrects it to “like gonorrhea or something baby, I didn’t mean like AIDS!” :o
