Just heard an interview with Carlijn Achtereekte while she was under way to a late breakfast (after winning a surprise gold yesterday on the 3000m speed skating). They were having a bit of fun about the late night before and mentioned how she is pretty much done with the olympics (didn’t qualify for other distances) and will spend the rest of the coming weeks just enjoying her success and hanging out at the olympics.
So yes, there is plenty of time to use up the condoms;).
I think in many (individual) sports you are still a member of a team, so even when you are done, you still have team mates to support and the coaching staff will stay at the site in any case. In Achtereekte’s case, today’s gold medalist Sven Kramer is a teammate as is Kjeld Nuis who will be up some time next week.
Yeah, but the start of one thing is the finish of something else.
