I can’t help but wonder it this people really go at it or is it fake. If you have seen Monster’s ball or The other side of midnight (old movie, one of Susan Sarandon’s first) for example, it is pretty explicit and I just don’t see how that could be fake.
I personally like movies without explicit sex much better than with it, I think is a cheap shot to draw audiences and 99.9 % of the times it is not needed at all, even in monster’s ball they could’ve shown them moaning and groaning under the sheets and I think I could’ve gotten the hint.
But anyways, if that ain’t real sex, can someone tell me how exactly is it that is “fake”, or are they really naked bumping each other, just without penetration? I tried to satisfy my curiosity searching the net in googles but needless to say it is a fruitless venture with all the pron spamming and all.
Nearly always fake. The actors are usually wearing some sort of clothing to cover their genitals and camera angles (and now, digital editing) keep anything from being displayed.
I guess it also has to do with one’s definition of sex, like when I was a teenage boy, if I could’ve gotten close to that kind of action at all, that would’ve definitely be a score :=), these ppl are massaging breasts and butts and rubbing parts with a skin flap and a ‘sock’, holy crap what can we call that?
Okay, since we all agree that sex in R-rated movies is generally bogus…
Have there been any instances in which the sex being had in an R-rated movie was real? The only one recently I can remember there being some flap about was “The Brown Bunny,” which supposedly shows some pretty explicit sex.
Dunno if it is true or not, but it was always rumored that Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin did it for real in their movie The Getaway (I think that was the one.)
Baise-Moi and Intimacy both have explicit sex scenes.
The actresses in Baise-moi are French adult film stars, but it’s not a porn film notwithstanding their tough day at the orifice. It was unrated in the U.S.
Intimacy otherwise would qualify as a mainstream film–I don’t know if U.S. showings of the uncut version had R ratings.
I don’t know if it could ever be proven, but I have heard stories that Amber Smith wasn’t acting in The Funeral and same thing with Jane March in * The Lover*. And I don’t have cites or links.
Taxi Zum Klo had some pretty explicit sex in it which included anal and oral sex. It was like a porn with a plot. It was a German film from the early 80’s and I believe it was R rated; although, it could have gone unrated. The sex was very explicit.
The Brittish version of Queer as Folk started with a very explicit rimjob. I haven’t seen the American version but I think they glazed over that scene if my friends are to be believed. (It is also the reason I haven’t bothered watching it.)
I remember reading many years ago that Bridget Bardot and another French actor (Trintignant, or something approximating it) who were an item off screen kept going after the director called “cut”, but don’t know what the film was.
If you ever see soft core point (what’s the point?) sometimes you will get a glimpse of the man’s flaccid penis bumping against the girl. (Not always, as some soft-core films are just hardcore films from different angles, or edited.)
Everything I’ve heard on the subject from actors, directors, and other film workers indicates that “real” sex on camera must be very, very rare in non-porn films. The actors are often not completely nude, even if they appear to be, and the situation is nowhere near as erotic for them as it looks. And if things were to get steamy for real, most directors would likely put an end to things fast. Even if all parties were really willing, I think the production company could potentially be in for legal problems if they allowed sex on the job.
I once read an interview with an actor known for his willingness to do nude scenes/sex scenes in his films, and he said that only once in his career has he ever even had an erection while filming a sex scene. The director stopped the scene immediately, and the actor was given a few minutes to “recover himself” before shooting continued.
