I know they exist. I’d guess the Dupont Circle or Adams Morgan areas for sure. And with a lot of creative googling, I’ve found the addresses of a few. But finding adult toy stores in the Yellow pages is just not easy, and I don’t really want to search them out too avidly in person. And I just don’t want to go in one and be disappointed with the prices or selection.
So for the MoCo and PG County MADs, DC dopers, and northern VA dopers, any recommendations on sex shops? Maybe an online list? I’ve tried searching alternative yellow pages with no luck. In MD a plus, or else within a few easy blocks of a metro stop.
There’s one in Georgetown we used to run by when I was rowing. It’s near the C&O Canal path, I think on Wisconson. All I clearly remember is it’s on a large hill we had to run up and it sucked.
The Georgetown Dream Dresser is just riverward of M St. on whatever cross street it’s on. The place in Dupont Circle is on P, IIRC, maybe around 22d? There’s a “Night Dreams” in Tysons on Rt. 7 west of the mall in the shopping plaza with the Kinko’s and Tower Records. That’s the only one of these I’ve ever been in, and it’s mostly outfits, but IIRC there were also what are sometimes referred to as “marital aids.”
If you’re looking more for pornography instead of costumes, there’s an MVC Late Nite Video in Springfield. I was in there once years ago, but IIRC they had a pretty overwhelming selection of videos. There’s also one of these on Rt. 7 in the Bailey’s Crossroads area. I think it’s east of 7 Corners, but I don’t recall.
Gee, now it counds like I’m a porn hound. I used to work in that Kinko’s in Tysons. Then I worked in Foggy Bottom for a while which was close enough to both Dupont and Georgetown to get lunch there so I learned the neighborhoods. I used to live close to Springfield (and you had to drive past that video store to get to Five Guys), and I’ve driven every inch of Route 7 looking for comic book stores.
Only, you might want to take a look at The Washington CityPaper. I know Dream Dresser advertises there.
I tried looking on their website, but I’m not often in a location where I can grab a copy. Though I’d love to start seeing them in the USDA South Building or the Pentagon.
