This is a fair point.
Oh, yes, I have 6-7 years before retirement. I can’t believe I’ve been on this board since just about exiting high school(AOL days) and will, Lord willing, be here when I retire from my career.
Does anyone want to give me suggestions on who to investigate? I will pick myself, of course, but there were a lot of people on here saying I might be wrong about Mahaloth, which I concede, but few people saying who else the last Villain might be.
I am Town and I may be tunneling with my theory on Mahaloth, so I’m open to suggestion but would like reasoning.
Good game, @Thing.Fish . You handled awkward circumstances with grace and style, as usual.
I suggest that randomness is your friend.
A good idea, and one that hadn’t occurred to me.
Thanks for that - that’s what I thought would be typical.
I suggest randomness tempered with some analysis (e.g. who didn’t vote for Thing Fish…)
Only BicycleBill and Thing.Fish didn’t vote for him.
My first choice would be bicycle bill.
He just reads as a newbie scum.
Also who has not revealed their character name?
Although it may have been a newbie mistake, I announced as Travers before the significance became apparent. Minor town!
Mahaloth still seems most suspicious. Other than him, maybe Dizzymrslizzy has a point about Bicycle_Bill? I can’t think of anyone else who stood out to me.
Mahaloth always seems suspicious.
Bicycle Bill looks typical Town to me.
Scum, specifically if there’s only one, will most probably try to just blend in.
Okay so don’t investigate bicycle bill.
Angel great job. Even though it wasn’t the result you were expecting. I’m glad that it worked out that Thing was lying! It was the most likely circumstance.
From my POV
Non confirmed Town but probable Town:
Sun
Prof
Story
Myself
Angel
Doing great and possible Town
Mahaloth
Demon
Glee
Neutral leaning Scum
Bicycle
I think that’s everyone
We’ve already lost 2 town Powers
Angel I’m assuming we are losing you tonight. I’d love for your assessment of the state of the game.
Most everyone at this point seems townie to me.
I’d like to get some feedback from Banquo’s Ghost, but I don’t think that’s very likely.
There’s multiple possibilities why Angel can be alive tomorrow.
It’s not probable, but we haven’t come upon a doctor yet. A doctor can protect one person each night from a kill. This is the perfect scenario where Angel claimed cop, and wasn’t counter claimed by someone else. It usually means Angel is the only cop. So the doctor if there is one should be on her.
A jailkeeper can jail a player, and prevent any night action from happening to them.
A redirector can redirect an action to someone else. We already know this exist but I suspect the redirector is dead.
Lastly, scum may roll the 1/10 chance she finds the last scum and leave her alive to make her seem guilty.
So I’m hoping to wake up to Angel alive.
I don’t think revealing your character name is a newbie mistake - we had no idea early on what town powers there might be - but with AotN having a (possibly somewhat random, or redirectable) power to find character names, it becomes somewhat important for us to have a few unknown Town character names to be able to verify future actions.
If AotN is a villain, It would be an extremely gutsy move to point the finger at Thing.Fish, a fellow villain, barring either (a) a fourth villain, or (b) a “hail mary” play (when already down one villain) to gain unimpeachable credibility for the rest of the game, and then hope to herd a crowd of newbs into making the exact wrong move at the wrong time. I find both (a) and (b) to be unlikely, but neither is impossible - and having some unrevealed character names serves as a check on AotN.
Worst-case scenario for town would be AotN collaborating behind the scenes to claim a fourth villain as a townie tonight, and a real townie getting dropped. That would give us 6v2 and then, Act III scenes 1 & 2 would likely drop us to 4v2, at which point a loss would be riding on the Act IV vote.
I haven’t revealed my character name yet, nor has DemonTree (or yourself, glee). It would be good to have one more in store - maybe I’ll look back through the last couple days and create a spreadsheet.
Yeah, that’s all true. I’m just saying that death would at least be wonderfully unsuspicious.
[Panto Voice ON] Oh yes, I have! Travers the name; Minor Town is the game! [Panto Voice OFF]
Followed by your helpful analysis. ![]()
Agreed - but I would be surprised if there were 4 Villains.
We have done extremely well to find two Villains so early - if the initial position was 9-4, Town could have lost in 3 days! ![]()
Duh! And I even quoted that above!
Should have gotten more sleep last night…
