Enter Laertes
ANGELOFTHENORTH
Come, for the third, Laertes. You do but dally.
I pray you pass with your best violence.
I am afeard you make a wanton of me.
LAERTES Say you so? Come on.Play.
OSRIC Nothing neither way.
LAERTES Have at you now! Laertes wounds Hamlet with the poisoned rapier
ANGELOFTHENORTH
O, I die, Horatio!
The potent poison quite o’ercrows my spirit.
I cannot live to hear the news from England.
But I do prophesy th’ election lights
On Fortinbras; he has my dying voice.
So tell him, with th’ occurrents, more and less,
Which have solicited—the rest is silence. Exit Laertes
AngeloftheNorth, who played the role of Hamlet, a Major Character, is dead.
Enter Theseus
THESEUS
Hippolyta, I wooed thee with my sword
And won thy love doing thee injuries
BICYCLE_BILL
Uh, love, maybe woo a little less hard?
Bicycle_Bill, who played the role of Hippolyta, a Minor Character, is dead.
Act III, Scene 1: The streets of Venice, early morning
Predictable, but makes things tricky. If there’s only one villain they don’t have anyone left to protect besides themself, which we all want to do anyway, and we no longer have a cop to discover their identity.
Thanks to AngeloftheNorth, who made the claim and sacrificed to get us one step closer to victory.
And please keep rooting for us Bicycle_Bill! Our win will be your win as well.
I would also note that if there are two villains remaining, we are one bad night from a loss, and I urge whoever is playing the role of vigilante to consider this carefully when thinking about who to target when.
It appears that the villain(s) think they still have a solid shot at victory, given that they passed up a chance to sow dissension in our ranks by passing on AngeloftheNorth, which would have had an 12.5% chance of backfiring for a single villain, and a 25% chance of reducing the villain ranks to one if we started with four. Unfortunately, this is about as far as analysis takes me.
So Angel investigated him. I thought we were generally thinking that Pardel was the a town redirector. And Pardel pushed the investigation from Mahaloth to Thing.
That in no way gives us any clue about who or what Mahaloth was? It would make no sense at all to change an action from one scum to another.
I would guess no protector. Primus, Angel would have been the obvious choice for the villains to target, hence the obvious choice for protection, ergo we have no protector (or one so stunted in reasoning ability that we might as well have no protector).
Secundus, assuming Pardel-Lux/Puck was the redirector who moved Angel’s investigation, and as we seem to have a vigilante hanging around, that would be three town powers. Is it likely for there to be more town powers than villains?
Perhaps Pardel-Lux had some suspicion of Thing.Fish? Turned out OK in that case, I guess…
I think no protector. We had a ghost, redirector(?), cop, and we seem to have a vigilante. Seems like it would be excessive to have a protector as well.
Pardel-Lux said he was suspicious of Thing after LH75 was killed.
I think the 4 town powers were neutered enough as to not warrent a 4th villan.
Ghost isn’t really the greatest role.
A vig which is a pretty blind role, and can hurt town.
A name cop, where you don’t get an actual scum/town read, you just get a name.
And a Redirector…
I have lots of thoughts, but first, a question for the moderator. I have read the rules about a thousand times and I am like 90% sure that there’s no non-gastard way there could be a third party in this game, but in the name of that last 10%:
@Chronos - will you explicitly deny the possibility of any win conditions in this game other than the Town and Villain win conditions?
I think you could judge the side of the name by their role in the play. So far, Chronos has kept names and roles very thematic. So the name cop is a little more powerful than you might think, as long as you remember a little Shakespeare (or have Wikipedia to remember it for you wholesale).
Point of order: I am really tempted to read into this post, possibly more than it deserves but at least some. Would that be outside of the spirit of the game?
