In early January I ordered a comforter from [http://www.homevisions.com/hvprod/default.asp?partner=18]this]( [url) place. I waited 2 weeks, and never recieved a shipping confirmation. So I went to the “my order” section of their site, and it said they expected to ship it on the 18th. It would’ve been nice if they had told me that. So I waited, still no shipping confirmation. I went back to the site. Where it had said the 18th, it now said Feb. 4! They had not emailed me about any delays or backorders. I thought about canceling the order, but I had been looking for one this color for 2 years, so I waited. I went back to the site, and where it had said Feb. 4, it now said Feb 20! I emailed them, and told them this was my worst online shopping experience, and I expected better of such a large company. The reply was full of apologies and a promise that the comforter would be shipped on MARCH 4! About a week later, I got a phone call from them, that there would be a tiny delay and it would be shipped on the 18th! BUT, I actually got it before the 18th, so then I was worried I would end up with 2 comforters and 2 charges. I only got 1 comforter but it took them 4 months to charge my creditcard.
:smack: Oh well, the link works anyway.
I hate the automatic parse link thing.
I had a similar experience with Overstock.com. I had ordered a down comforter from them at a great price and it arrived superfast. Then I ordered a different comforter, as a gift, still at a great price then… wait wait wait delay delay delay It took nearly 3 months to get it. I complained so much that they refunded me almost the whole cost. I have never ordered anything from them since, but before that, never a problem. Other than that, I have never had any problems ordering anything online.
Back in the summer of 1999, I decided I wanted to by the VHS copies of the original (not special edition) Star Wars trilogy. It was out of print by that time, so I couldn’t go to a major website (amazon, etc.). I found some smaller video website that had what I wanted, for $40 bucks. So I gave them my check card info and awaited my videos.
Shortly after that, I stopped by the bank and made a deposit to my checking account. And found that the balance was in the negative by about $300 or so (after my deposit!). I checked out my recent transactions and found that they had taken $440 from my checking account. Luckily I had enough in savings to cover the overdraft. I called and bitched and got my $400 back.
But I never did get the videos, or the $40.
