And yet the article says the sheriff is calling it a “line of duty” death, which probably entitles his family to benefits they wouldn’t get if his death was properly ascribed to stupidity. Honestly, if I were a taxpayer in the area, I would be unhappy.
And this, from a press release, “every member of the [Denver Sheriff Department Lodge 27 FOP [Fraternal Order of Police] Executive Board has been infected and suffered from Covid-19 except one.”
The owner of the hat store in Nashville that was selling yellow Stars of David saying not vaccinated apologized after getting much criticism, including the Stetson and Goorin Bros. hat companies dropping the store as an authorized retailer of their products.
I hadn’t commented on that post, as it left me speechless. My in-laws include/included concentration camp survivors and others who survived being Jews in Poland under Nazi rule. My mother and that side of the family lived in Nazi-ruled Norway during the war. My aunt and uncle were part of the Norwegian resistance. I literally can’t convert the feelings I have about that picture into coherent words.
I mean, this is an amazing quote from her apology:
“In NO WAY did i intend to trivialize the Star of David or disrespect what happened to millions of people,” she wrote. “My hope was to share my genuine concern & fear, and to do all that i can to make sure that nothing like that ever happens again.”
By saying that she was trying to “make sure that nothing like that ever happens again“, she’s still directly comparing masking and vaccination to the Holocaust. Just gross.
The article is pay-walled, could you please list the hat companies dropping the store. Hats are normal garb out here, its nice to know who the good guys are.
Thank you, your post said something about “including” those hat makers so I wondered if there were any smaller ones. Like I said, hats are big out here and I’m in the market for a good one now.
I’m sorry for the confusion. I’m starting week three of caring for a COVID patient. You were perfectly clear, I just wasn’t keeping up. I’m a little frazzled right now, but I’ll get better.
As already noted, various articles listed Stetson and Goorin Bros. as the companies boycotting this store. But I just found this article at Raw Story mentioning several other companies too:
Gigi Gaskins, owner of the hat store, also confessed to being present at The Insurrection, posting a picture of it that the claims she took.
Thank you very much for that. I am in need of a new hat and Dorfman Pacific is on my list. I’ll be sure to use their “contact” button so I can offer up my appreciation for their actions.
My personal Covidiot found himself unable to do simple division in his head today. I sure hope he gets that back when he recovers, he’s proud of his mental math skills and it would be horrible for him to spend the rest of his life remembering when he could divide 6 lbs by l/4 lb. We are at day 16 and while he’s doing better, just taking a shower and getting dressed is wears him out enough to cause a couple of hour nap.
I hope he continues to recover and will soon be back to normal, JaneDoe42.
I read that even if you’ve had the virus, it’s still recommended that you get the vaccination. If, after he recovers, do you think your husband will now opt for the shots?
We actually discussed this yesterday. According to him and his right wing news sources, he now has life-time immunity to COVID and all the variants. I’m hoping that was the brain fog talking because I do not want to go through this again.
Remind him that his right-wing news sources also said COVID was a hoax and even if it wasn’t it wasn’t serious, and ask him if he thinks they were right about that.
And he may be suffering the aftereffects for awhile if he winds up with Long COVID.
We had that talk not too long ago as well. I reminded him Trump said it was going to go away just like magic last year, hubs said it would go away right after the elections and “everyone” said it was a hoax.
He changed the subject to remind me that we had agreed that baby animals were too much trouble and who in their right mind would pay 2400.00 for a cat?!?
At least he’s able to remember and focus better.
I’m concerned about Long COVID as well. He was really sick for 12 days then improved to pretty sick and I’ve not seen any change since then.
I think that every two weeks that he is sick with this virus that is a hoax and doesn’t exist that he will never get vaccinated against you should reserve a new baby animal that you have always wanted. Another Maine Coon buddy for George and then a housebroken puppy of your favorite kind to keep them company…there are some gorgeous Siamese kitties that will converse with you and have stand-out personalities to keep you company since he’ll be napping all the time for the foreseeable future. Personally, I’d draw the line at quarter horse colts but that is just me.
