So in so many words, no Lutheran should claim a religious exception. Good! And good find - I love it!

I have learned the story is weirder than I had first believed. In fact, it’s ONLY my sister’s sister-in-law. Her husband got vaccinated happily, as did his entire family. So it’s just the one woman who believes in all the conspiracy theories.

Unvaccinated UCLA anesthesiologist proudly records himself being kicked out of his work

Wife’s aunt…
She has been getting the flu shot for years. This year she said that they change the flu shot every year and she doesn’t know what’s in it. She’s not getting the flu shot either.
It’s the same logic for the covid vaccine. At least she’s being consistent with her new way of thinking.

This goes beyond covidiot:

…killing people with the COVID shot.

I think I see the confusion. Dude, it’s actually an anti-COVID shot.

said he was willing to lose “everything—job, paycheck, freedom, even my life” just to avoid getting a safe, free jab

“Your proposal is acceptable…”

Heh. Just watched that last night.

I wish I could find my watch.

From the linked story:

“She called the hospital “callous” for terminating employees while disregarding how long they had been employed with the hospital or whether they were seeking medical or religious exemptions to the vaccine.”

I strongly suspect that her hospital system does in fact allow medical exemptions to vaccination. They were also offering the option of weekly testing, though the N.Y. State mandate apparently doesn’t permit that.

As for the UCLA anesthesiologist who is martyring himself over refusal to be vaccinated against Covid-19, you’ll be glad to know that he’s raising money on a Christian crowdfunding site for a legal defense fund. If you don’t want to give him dough to fight Medical Tyranny, there’s a Pray Now button on the website so he’ll know you’re invoking Jesus on his behalf.

A long-time coworker resigned a few weeks ago to go to a better job. I learned today that, before he left, he used the corporate incident reporting system (which is visible to all employees) to post a report about the company’s lack of contact tracing for COVID cases…specifically, for the guy in the cube across from him. This former coworker had to find out through the rumor mill that he had been sitting next to a COVID case. I noticed that the post was missing from the monthly report that was mailed out today, so I checked the site…and sure enough, the post had been scrubbed.

Re: The guy who killed his own brother (and his wife, et al) because he believed the brother was killing people with covid shots: Seems strangely similar to that guy who took his two young children to Mexico then spear-gunned them there because he thought they had monster DNA that they inherited from their mother’s side, and would grow up to be demons.

This sort of insanity has always been with us, but when the actual US government spent four years embracing conspiracy theories, and one of the major parties continues to embrace them, it became much harder to convince people that they are insane.

I don’t know if anyone is actually tracking such events, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find out they have become more common.

This person is in the running for antivax Covidiot of the year*, news photo division.

The fact that she’s capturing her and her compatriots’ asinine behavior via selfie is just icing on the dingbat cake.

*and honorary Karen.

A group of several dozen anti-mask/anti-vaccine-mandate protestors accosted parents walking their children to school on National Walk or Bike to School Day. A sampling of what these covidiots yelled at parents with young children:

“He’s gonna be traumatized if you put that mask on him and you don’t let him breathe through it!”

“Masking children is child abuse! You mask your child, you’re a child abuser!”

“You should choose what goes on your child’s face and in your child’s body. This is rape! This is rape! They’re trying to rape our children with this poison!”

In the clip, you can see how frightened some of the children were.

SMH.

Two sorry old men ridiculing me, in public, for wearing a mask.
Had to sit there & pretend I couldn’t hear them.

:face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Tell them, ‘Well, you’re old and you’re going to die. As you breathe your last, say, “Thank you, Trump, my Messiah!”’

Add in the most watched news network in the US embraces the crazy as well.

Should’ve thanked them for being brave unvaccinated patriots willing to potentially lay down their lives to improve the country’s housing crisis.

There’s a Jehovah’s Witness in my office who’s been moping around despondently since the company announced a double-vax mandate. He’s been trying to sell his house because he figures he’ll need the money when he gets fired for not getting a shot, and he’s at a loss as to how he can fix the situation, because he’s convinced that God doesn’t want him to. I googled JW thinking on this, I know they’re against blood transfusions, but if I remember what I found, the official church stance is “It’s your choice, but we don’t prohibit vaccines.”

Of course, I’d be the one in trouble with HR should I tell him what I’m thinking, namely “Get the shot, dumbass. Your wonky fundamentalism has done a number on you and you’re not even doing it right.” I don’t discuss religion at work (and I sat next to a holy rolling Pentacostal for over a decade) because it’s not the place for that can of worms to be opened. So I’ve been keeping my mouth shut whenever he wanders over to my desk and moans plaintively that he’s going to have to move his wife and kids into a shitty motel when he gets the axe and if only there was something he could do about it.

I did finally snap recently when he said “…and I’ve heard they’re going to be setting up camps for people who haven’t gotten vaccinated.” I cut him off even before the final syllable of the sentence with a forceful “No, that’s not happening, not in a million years, not in Canada, not in the States. Nobody is building camps for people who don’t get the shot. Not happening. Stop listening to whoever is telling you this crap.” To which he barely reacted, just said again “But that’s what people are saying!” and I’m done with this guy.

Given Delta and that we haven’t made the same move as Canada to ban the unvaccinated from air and rail travel, we might be building them some nice comfy field hospitals after the holidays though.
