There are a lot of different denominations. One of the larger ones in the US is “Icandowhateverthefuckiwant”
My coworker (I think I spoke of him earlier in this thread) has Covid. We are all remote workers, thank goodness. He said he didn’t want to get the vaccine, but his wife had gotten it. Today when I found out he had Covid on a Teams meeting, someone said “breakthrough case.”
I said, “Oh no, you got Covid? But you got the vaccine?” He said, “Yes.” Something about the way he said it made me think he’s not telling the truth. Our company has mandated vaccines, and not getting them can result in termination. That might be why he’s stating he got the jab, or maybe he did, I don’t know…
Our company has been requiring unvaccinated employees to wear a mask when in any of our facilities since July 2021. You fill out a questionnaire at the door on your smartphone or a kiosk. Almost every single employee has been claiming they are fully vaccinated (2 Pfizer/Moderna or one J&J).
Today is the deadline for submitting proof of vaccination or be excluded from any facilities. For many of us this means you can’t really do your job. As of noon today over 40% have not submitted evidence. Should be an interesting senior staff meeting tomorrow.
Why didn’t he stop us from sabotaging the country?
That shades right into the Gospel of Sovcitism.
I say do it. Have a huge committee, live on TV, where every question is, “Why didn’t Biden do X?” and the answer is, “Biden tried to do X, but Republicans (voted against it/sued in court to block it/insisted this was a State matter/went on Fox news to denounce it/just fucking ignored it).”
Someone pass this on to Kyrie Irving, Cole Beasley, Carson Wentz, Aaron Rodgers, and Novak Djokovic.
My spouse is a deeply caring person who is of a social worker bent, both professionally and personally. She wants to help people. She’s connected with someone, I think through Nextdoor, who needed help getting her laundry to a laundromat once. Now that person occasionally texts asking for favors.
Today, she was asking for help getting to a vaccination clinic. Good for her, even if it’s very late for that, I thought.
Then she texted again asking for a ride to a testing center, because she has covid symptoms, and asking if she should still get her shot.
I’m not sure what my spouse was thinking of doing, but I laughed out loud at the idea of her driving the person to get a covid test. I mean, I hope she finds a way to get there, but no way is my spouse going to sit in an enclosed space with an unvaccinated person with Covid symptoms. I’m not trying to be mean, but, she would have been happy to provide a ride to a vaccination site any time in the last six months.
The sad thing is that I read the headline and thought « Here comes another stupid ‘cure’ for the crazy anti-vaxxers. ».
It’s getting so the Onion headlines are believable.
The Onion is riffing on a real thing:
Vaxtards?
I would not be surprised to see that term used on Fox News.
I suppose I should get ahead of the crowd and trademark it to make merchandise. Anyone want a T-shirt?
Leave off the “S” and sell them to anti-vaxxers, and you’d be making money off them labeling themselves a Vaxxtard under the guise of owning the libs.
Profit!
I posted this elsewhere on the board, but thought it should also go here. Absolutely brutal obituary.
