Share your pumpkin pictures

Yeah, OK, since I started the thread I should have some to contribute. But even though I planned to carve some this year, I never got around to doing so.

But if you have some cool or fun carvings, here’s your chance to show them off!

I’ve carved 3 this year for the niece. She gets one each Friday night and takes it home. The week before Halloween my large ones get carved, and there will be a bunch. The pictures are not online so no links at this time. We had to tour the pumpkin patch every week multiple times as they grew.

Seen near Half Moon Bay last month: King Kong on a pumpkin

I’m going to resurrect this thread, since it’s closer to Halloween and much “safer” to start carving (carve too early and they go all moldy before the 31st, dontchaknow!)

I carved today and am doing another tomorrow. Here’s my Count von Count for this year

That is way cool. I was going to bump this Monday and see if we got any hits. Thanks for showing off your carving.

By the way … my friends and I have been carving pumpkins every year for a long time. For a while we always used the patterns that come with the carving sets you buy at the store, but they get old after a while.

For the last few years we’ve bought a subscription at Zombie Pumpkins and get our patterns there. I am NOT affiliated with that site whatsoever. However, every year our pumpkins come out looking stunning - even for the people who join us who are new to doing it. It’s well worth the $5 or $10 a year I spend on the subscription if everyone ends up with bitchin’ creations. Ending up with a great looking pumpkin makes carving so much more fun!

That’s a great site. I’ll bookmark it and if I carve next year I’ll have a place to get patterns.

Ahem ahem.

Here are my Pet Shop Boys.

There is so much negative space they only lasted about three days before they were banished to the compost pile. It was more a labor of love than anything else though.

Great Count Zipper!!!

best pumpkins ever

Unfortunately I can’t see them. :frowning:
It says: You must log in to see this page.

My brother’s girlfriend did this for our family last year with a stencil and special carving blades. Taken Halloween night with a real candle for illumination.

Creepiest Jack O’ Lantern

this is my first year carving a pumpkin - I know, my wife couldn’t believe it either.

so here’s my first pumpkin, which is pretty shoddy:

Grrr.

???

I love the teeth fubble!

these are all great so far! I like the lamp illumination. My tealights always burn out after an hour or so.

Great tip on that page for preventing mold! I can’t stand it when they get all moldy. I may actually go out and buy a pumpkin now.

Here’s our pumpkins from Day Two. I stuck with a Muppets theme and did Animal. One girl did a GOURD and it turned out sooooo cool! The Mount Rushmore is a pattern from HistoryChannel.com

I went to light Count von Count today and his eyes are about to break off already. sigh

The Pet Shop Boys is amazing, voguevixen! Did you do the stencils yourself?!

I like it when people do their own creations, like yours fubbleskag. I can NEVER think of my own so I just grab a pattern and am done with it.

Those tools you can buy in the drug store are well worth the price. You can’t really do anything delicate without them. My friends and I have collected a ton over the years and use them at our parties.

Every year I say I am going to buy battery powered lights and every year I don’t. I think tomorrow I am just going to go buy them online. Going out every night to light and replace the tea lights sucks :frowning:

Re: putting Vasaline on the cut areas. It totally works! But here’s an extra tip on that - don’t put it on the top cut out unless you have plenty of room to get your hand in there without touching the sides. Otherwise you just end up with an arm full of Vasaline every night when you go to light your pumpkin

I’ve never carved a pumpkin but did see this today:

and it made me feel dumb.

Thanks! Yeah - I got the idea from a photo-to-stencil tutorial at this link: Stencil Art…Creating Stencils with Photoshop -Adobe Photoshop Tutorial :: Melissa Evans . (It ended up being kind of over my head, so I just kind of messed around with a photo in my editing program until it was all black & white enough for me) then I traced it, then I scanned it and blacked out the parts to cut in “paint” then printed it out on full-page sticker paper and mooshed it around the pumpkins.

I wish I’d known about that Vaseline trick! It was a lot of work for them to last so little time.
