We got a TiVo as a gift for Christmas and have become about as addicted to it as one can in short order. Already we have tried to set up some “Season Pass” entries but it seems we want to keep too much stuff! After about four or five shows that we don’t want to miss it became obvious that we wouldn’t be able to record much else. So we jettisoned all but Judge Judy from the Season Pass category and have opted for the Wish List approach to be sure we catch favorite actors and/or shows. So far it’s just actors:

Billy Bob Thornton
Gene Hackman
Judi Dench
Audrey Hepburn
Cary Grant
DeNiro
Duvall
Audrey Tautou
Sherilyn Fenn

and probably at least a dozen more.
It occurred to me that the notion of wanting to know about upcoming movies by favorite actors might be more meaningful than one of those “best of all time” lists for determining which stars are really more important to us. I certainly wouldn’t include all my list as “Top 100” types, but on the other hand I don’t think I would care to see movies by many of the Top 100 types.
