After a couple of days searching I’ve discoverd a whole heap of sites where I can share my photos with friends and family. Most have upper sharing limits but none seem to have a no-limit on the size of the photo to be uploaded.
I have a whole bunch of photos that average at about 12Mb and the last thing I want to do is go about resizing them down to 6 or lower so that I can put 'em on the 'net.
Does anyone know of a photo-sharing service where I can download a tool that not only uploads the photos, but converts them first to a smaller version? Photobucket will resize images down to 250Kb but you need to upload that 12Mb first.
Any ideas?
Flickr’s uploading tool will resize large photos for you if such is your desire. It also provides thumbnails and small, medium, or large versions of any photos you upload. It’s very handy, actually.
Thanks, The Tooth !
Hmm, they’ve been bought by Yahoo I see… I wonder will my login work…
yes, thanks
I started with Photopoint, which went out of business. I switched to Ofoto, which merged with and became KodakGallery
But it’s tough to link to a single photo in KodakGallery
I’ve noticed a lot of Dopers use Photobucket, so I’ll try that for a while, but I’ll keep **Flickr ** handy just in case
Hmmm, small snag. The upload tool is great. It’ll resize the photos into 4 different sizes of my choosing, but in order to share the photos the person needs to have a Yahoo! account in order to view them…
