Look Shayna is one of the most diligent posters I have seen on the subject of Obama, I would not want to be a Hillary Supporter at her cocktail party, but when you start throwing insults at Shayna for mocking another candidate in GD and expect people on a message board to dutifully wipe it away, you should expect a pitting in return. It does, actually. If she had started a reasonable thread about McCain, with reasonable claims and arguments directed at McCain, I would possibly have replied with reasonable retorts–or simply not posted in the thread. By baiting McCain’s supporters by labeling the man “one of the dumbest people on the planet” she instantly soured the well, so to speak. (Thus my invoking the term “fair” earlier, if she had treated my candidate fairly, I would have treated her candidate fairly. While I think Obama is a racist to a degree I find the Reverend Wright associations somewhat unfair–and that’s why I haven’t really mentioned them on this forum until now–when someone makes an unfair claim about my candidate.)
I think when supporter of candidate A starts a thread by name calling on candidate B, candidate A is a viable target. I do concede that we shouldn’t have total thread hijacks, I think I had an obligation to at least initially respond to the allegations against McCain. But I think it entirely proper that I insulted Obama (and I’m not even sure labeling the man as he is, is in fact insulting.)
It is as much about Obama as any “Paid for by Obama for America” advertisement would be. People need to recognize political mouthpieces for what they are. Shayna stops being an individual or a poster when she talks about this campaign, she becomes part of the Obama political machine, and that needs to be recognized.
The thread was most definitely about Obama, because it was a thread designed to hurt Obama’s opponent–nothing more or less. It wasn’t a thread designed to stir up any meaningful discussion, just a thread designed to shit on the opposition in the hopes that it will make one’s own candidate look better.
This is going exactly the way I hoped it would. You don’t post here as long as I do without realizing this place is overrun with leftist, liberal lunatics. I’ve not had the support of this forum in a single pitting or thread since day one of posting here, nor do I expect or ask for it.
In fact, as I have said in the past I would have to seriously look at myself in the mirror and wonder if I had degenerated as a person if I were to find myself being offered the support of the majority of this forum.
This is a forum overwhelmingly dominated by leftists and liberals, as a conservative, that means pretty much all of these threads are going to go “against me.” But fortunately, these threads aren’t popularity contests. The strength of my arguments typically prevail over the idiocy of the left, and just because I never receive recognition for that from the hordes of lefties on this forum, doesn’t mean I don’t take my own satisfaction in routinely dismissing and tearing apart the leftist/liberal/Democrat bullshit that overwhelms this message board.
It’s also notable that in general, America has aligned with my views, not with the views of this message board.
Anyway, last I checked debates aren’t won based on popularity contests or polled, they are won by the superior argument. My argument that you are an intellectual coward is proven entirely by your actions prior to this thread–in essence there was no way you or anyone else could have refuted it since you had firmly established your cowardice before I ever started this thread.
As for the greater topic of the thread–whether or not my insulting Obama was a hijack, I conceded from the beginning that the particular way of going about things by me was incorrect. However I still maintain, and still believe, that it is entirely appropriate to insult your candidate whenever you feel the need to take your anti-[Anyone who isn’t Obama] rhetoric too far, and you can expect that in the future.
I have no intention of going against any forum rules, as always I abide by all of the rules of this message board. However, I also won’t allow this forum to become a massive circle-jerk where people will be able to bash McCain and get nothing directed back towards Obama.
For that alone the powers that be should thank me for providing the public service of keeping this message board from becoming more of a boring liberal circle-jerk than it already is.

I don’t know you or Shayna, I haven’t followed your work, so this isn’t personal. I participated in that thread about McCain because I think what John McCain said was really stupid and I despise his attiude on the topic. I did not post to that thread as a backhanded way of supporting Obama. If I wanted to that… I’d post to an Obama thread. There are plenty. This is really just simple logic, and the mods agree because they closed the original thread because you were hijacking it all to hell.
I think you need to take a step back. Maybe reread the thread, trying not to think about who the OP was. Those of us who didn’t know who was who and your personal grudges thought you came off as a nutcase with some inexplicable need to talk about Obama when he was totally irrelevant to the topic. Some perspective might help you realize that you are fabricating your allegation out of whole cloth.
So, if Shayna wishes to start a thread that is truly about McCain (and for some bizarre reason she feels a need to have you acknowledge that it is about McCain), what’s her option? Contract with somebody else to open it? Ask you to open it?
