Watching the credits to get to the tag gives you the chance to find the name of that actor/actress who “I’ve seen him/her in something else but can’t place it” and google them.
And I liked the episode 4 tag, it was funny and didn’t really fit in with the story so the tag was a great place for it.
“Blue Curacao?”
“What’s in it?”
“I don’t know, it’s blue”
It reminded me a bit of the scene in the original Star Trek episode, “By Any Other Name,” in which a group of powerful aliens have taken over the Enterprise, and Scotty is tasked with getting one of the aliens drunk; the following exchange occurs once Scotty and Tomar (the alien) have had more than a few drinks.
For an annoying drunk woman, Maddisynn is a lot of fun. I thought for sure she was going to be the butt of the joke when Blaze sent her to another dimension, but she’s really not. She comes through it no worse for wear and it’s hilarious.
Part of me thinks they’re lampshading an absolutely epic adventure; like she Mr. Magoo’d her way through some extreme trials and came out the other side with hidden powers. But I think that would ultimately detract from what makes her delightful - she’s just a random mundane party girl who is Wong’s new bestie.
I’m also wondering whether this show will have a Rosencrantz and Guildenstern vibe, where epic stuff keeps happening on the peripheries and Jen is busy being a lawyer who happens to be a hulk. Like Wong pops in to drop off a document and we get a glimpse, through the portal, of Cornelius locked in battle with several other wizards.
Exactement, as he French would say! Imagine the hundreds or even thousands of people who helped contribute to the moviefilm and this is pretty much their only recognition for it.
Marvel has announced their next spin off series on Disney+: Madisynn and Wongers. Watch them battle interdimensional demons while they go through every cocktail in the book (and some not in the book). Soooo dramatic.
