She passed the FCAT!!!

OK passed isn’t really accurate, more like she kicked butt. This is my daughter I’m talking about by the way. She’s 9 years old and in the 3rd grade. Here in Florida the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) is a big deal now days. If you don’t pass the 3rd grade installment you can’t move on to the 4th grade. My daughter changed schools this year and hasn’t been really happy with that. We also had a lot of changes at home this year so it’s been kinda rough on her and the boy child too. She was really nervous about taking the test because she knew how important it is to pass. But as it turns out all of our collective family worrying was unnecessary, we’re so happy.

Any other Florida doper parents have any FCAT stories?

Congrats to your daughter! Poor thing must have been a wreck because of the stress of starting new school, changes in home situation, and the desire to pass. But it’s only that much more impressive that she did so well. I hope she got extra dessert after dinner the night the test scores came back. :wink:

Yeah she has been a wreck, well until we received the test scores yesterday. But now she’s all happy. We’ll be going out to dinner Friday to celebrate.
