I’m looking in the back archives to see how discussions have faired in the past. As people have noted, I ended seem to be unable to see the point of a philosophy that has been responsible for so many dead, but I am looking through the back archives of great discussion, to see how conflicts have gone in the past.
I have lurked hear quite a bit, but I should have done so in this forum, instead of in Cafe Society. I seem to do fine (mostly) in there, so perhaps I will stay out of Great Debates and The Pit entirely.

Ever studied history? Some of the best and brightest among the mass murder crowd have been atheists - Stalin and Mao to name two easy examples.
Yup, they sure did kill alot of people. They did so because they wanted power. Not because they atheists. Power, plain and simple.

The fact that there is no “Big Book of Atheism” saying that you must kill your enemies. Any desire they had to kill people must have come from themselves as opposed to a philosophy. Common sense. That’s my cite.
I suppose that is is possible to say that Authoritarianism has killed more people than democracy ever did, however. That would not be the same thing, but it does sound like it makes sense.

A little while ago, I was told that the holocaust occurred without the leaders being christian. I was enraged. In response I posted quotes from the top National Socialist himself, Adolf Hitler, stating that he was a christian. It didn’t work. I believe that he was a christian, he’s a christian, but it was pointed out to me that he can say whatever he wants, in order for the populace to go along with it. Same here.
If nothing else, you are forcing me to think — to maintain a state of intellectual alertness. I realize now that I’m going to have to keep my wits about me in order to discern your arguments from a monkey scratching its ass and sniffing its fingers.

So address the issues instead of the person. The reason that people pointed out that some of your adversaries were not Fundamentalists, earlier, was that you were attacking them based on a presumption that they were Fundamentalists. However, you have still failed to understand the actual dynamics of this Forum. If you have been having some success in Cafe Society, then perhaps you should limit yourself to that Forum until you can handle yourself outside it.
Regarding your persistence in viewing Hitler as a Christian: you are demonstrating an abysmal ignorance of history. Quote mining will not provide the overview you need to understand why you are wrong. Go read some history and biography on Hitler (as opposed to a single web site with an agenda and a list of selected “quotations”) until you understand just why you are wrong.

The “Big Book” of my religion explicitly states one is to love one’s neighbors, as well as God and says explicitly “Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you; bless those who curse you. . . . If you love only those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. Again, if you do good only to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much. . . . But you must love your enemies and do good.” Those are supposed to be the words of the Man who founded my religion. Still, people have killed in the name of that faith and continue to do so. Human nature. That’s my cite. As for the passage quoted above, you might want to check out Chapter 6 in the book of Luke sometime.

Let’s enumerate your flaws: you keep referring to “theists” as “deists”, even though Deism refers to a specific religious concept (and one that is, so far as I know, dead.) You don’t know shit about the religions you’re condemning, as your statements about the Catholic Church have demonstrated. And your condemnations have the depth of reasoning behind them that an eight-year-old uses when they tell their parents “I hate you” because they don’t want to go to bed. Kudos, though, on managing a whole post without any glaring grammatical or spelling errors. This one was comprehensible!
BTW, you demonstrate your ignorance of Christianity (yet again!) when you assume that, since Liberal is Christian, he must be a fundamentalist. He is not.
