She's back! Palin endorses Trump

I like how mere minutes before accusing Obama of being insensitive to what battle experienced veterans go through Palin was whooping it up about how Trump - oops, I mean TRUMP – will loose the dogs of war and kick ISIS’s ass, yeeeeeeehaw!

Was Palin’s son in actual combat? This is a serious question.

Didn’t she say in her speech that she had called for the military to kick Isis’s ass in 2008? Er, Sarah, check your, y’know, history.

Isn’t it clear to anyone else that Charlie from It’s Always Sunny is now Sarah’s speechwriter?

Charlie writes: Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I’m hot. What? Taxes, they’ll be lower… son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.

Sarah says: Trump’s candidacy has exposed, not just that tragic – that ramifications of the betrayal of a transformation of our country, but, two, he has exposed the complicity on both sides of the aisle that has enabled it, OK?

Sarah also says: Otherwise, they won’t be able to be slurping off the gravy train that’s been feeding them all these years. They don’t want that to end. Well, then, funny, ha-ha, not funny, but now what they’re doing is wailing, ‘Well, Trump and his trumpeters, well, they’re not conservative enough.’

Tell me that’s not straight from Charlie’s brain. I half expected her to break out a verse of “Troll Toll.”

No idea. He was sent as a reservist with the Stryker Brigade to “provide security for the brigade’s top brass”.

Now, I’m confident that Palin is using her son for political gain, and here’s why:

  1. He spent one tour in a combat zone, in armored vehicles, providing base security. It doesn’t mean he was out of danger, but he wasn’t a ground pounder.

  2. He came back unscathed. This doesn’t mean he couldn’t have PTSD, but I seriously doubt it, given his assignment and having served only one tour, which probably means about nine months on the ground, since he went first to Kuwait to train up.

  3. He was in trouble before he ever went in the Army.

  4. He’s been involved in drunken brawls on other occasions and nobody whined about PTSD when that happened.

  5. She’s a lying bitch.

I was in a combat zone also, but not in the weeds. We got shot at, we got wounded, and we saw a lot of dead and wounded. Some had problems afterwards, but most did not.

That is uncanny.

Did anyone link to Sarah Plain’s speech? Here’s a YouTube of the entire speech.

Even if you’re not a Palin fan it might be worth wasting 21 minutes of your life to watch the YouTube. She is phenomenal! Unbelievable! Here’s a transcript if you can’t stand her voice.

At one point, she says Trump isn’t addicted to Opium (OPM?) like other politicians. I wonder what drug she’s on.

OPM = Other People’s Money.

You just got outsmarted by Palin

Yeah, maybe Palin can tell us what she and Trump have been doing about veteran homelessness.

Trump’s not addicted to other people’s money? Tell that to the former Trump Taj Mahal bond holders.

I certainly know what OPM means – we were using the term in the 1970’s. But in the speech, Palin distinctly says “Opium” not “Oh Pee Em.”

ETA: I’m going to save that YouTube, a masterpiece of something. Each word out of her mouth is an amazing caricature of stupidity.

Palin certainly isn’t known for good diction. She could have easily said either one and have it come out the other way.

I agree with Chefguy and not TriPolar about the audience response to Palin- I found it lukewarm for a woman who used to be a huge media darling and has been out of the national political spotlight for a while.

I enjoyed how she revisited all the old tropes from the last cycle- “Drill, baby, drill”, “community organizer”, “you betcha”, “going rogue”, the evil press, and a few more.

I am always impressed with Palin’s inability to construct a complete sentence (and paragraph) for a woman with a degree in journalism. I had read some quotes from her Trump endorsement speech and found them humorously dense so decided to watch a video of the speech. Certainly, it makes more sense seeing it than reading it.

Her big applause lines seemed to fall into the anger and ‘naughty librarian’ camps- phrases she used that got responses included “pussy footing”, “kick ISIS ass”, some mild gay suggestions (Obama organizing a “neighborhood tea” and “bending over”). She said “suck off of them” regarding establishment Republicans. I was waiting for her to use the word ‘booby’ to round out the sexual undertones.

All I know is that the one post about it on Facebook was someone saying “What in the world were you thinking?” to Palin, and a bunch of people agreeing. This was a former pastor–and not former because he left the faith.

I so wanted to post back “she wasn’t.” But someone even beat me to that!

Sarah Palin is clearly a 3D Printed Woman.

I guess the thing is she can make good money off this and his campaign wipes out the opposition in terms of coverage - he continues to be mostly about domination of the narrative.

It’s not as if his opponents are blinding the public with rational policy alternates.

Or, as Trevor Noah put it, “It’s like she’s a malfunctioning robot.”

Or, in Stephen Colbert’s words, “Sarah Palin just guaranteed Trump the evangelical vote because I think she was speaking in tongues!”

I won’t make a big point of this, she got some applause, she fed the red meat to the audience. But the crowd didn’t stand up and start chanting “Sar-ah! Sar-ah!” either.

I would call that an intentional effort at a clever pun, but, considering the source, probably not . . .
