Today is his birthday, and I want to organize a surprise party for him. I wonder how many of us can fit in this little room before he gets here?
I’ve got the cake sitting in the fridge and the ice cream in the freezer. I’ve got a good collection of music by the CD player, but anyone that has better selections is welcome to bring them.
Let’s make this a birthday LindyHopper will never forget!
Hmmmm… paws through her desk I know I have a special card I bought here somewhere… knocks over a 7" high stack of bills, drafts, and statistics books Crap.
Gosh, what a nice birthday this is turning out to be already. First a call from my Granddad’s widow, then an e-card from TruePisces, then an actual birthday thread! I’m actually getting choked up here (for real).
This is why I love this community; people really do care about each other. Not to get too maudlin, but people who talk about the impersonal nature of the Internet just don’t understand. You guys are great!
Oh, and Arden: should I take this to mean that you’ve tried to send me e-mail, but I haven’t received it? Is it getting bounced back to you, or just vanishing without a trace? It’s weird; I don’t know what the problem is. I’ll e-mail you my work address; maybe I’ll be able to get it there.
Twarn’t nothin’, Lindy, my friend. Just wanted to make sure you celebrated your birthday in style. Now what would you like me to pop in the CD player first?
ShibbOleth, since you’re mixing drinks, can I get a Toxic Waste Dump? (Just don’t ask me what’s in it - all my bartender would tell me was it was a Long Island Iced Tea with a twist!)
HEY!!! Pat didn’t name it that, I did! I don’t think HE knows what went in that, he just started grabbing bottles, and I couldn’t read them. All clear stuff, I think.
Hey, how was I supposed to know who named it. I think I was on my second one by the time you told me what it was called and by then I didn’t much care!
