I loved loved loved this Anniversary Beer from Shiner, which had a limited 1-year run. I read on a blog that
Sweet.
Excellent. 98 was so disappointing after 97.
Still trying to find this in the Philadelphia area. I have tried special order through Total Wine in Delaware (who carries Shiner Bock) and even local Beer Distributors, but no luck thus far.
Interestingly, the PLCB lists the beer on their list of registered brands and is also available at this store near Pittsburgh. However, all I get is “it isn’t available in Pennsylvania” from local beer distributors. Of course, the PLCB tells me they “do not handle any malt-based products. You will have to speak to your local Beer Distributor.”
I know this is a lot to find a beer, but I REALLY liked this one, and the quest is becoming half the fun.
Anyone know how I can get this in Philadelphia area? I don’t mind the trip to Delaware (rationalizing that if it isn’t available in PA then I am not breaking the law by bringing it into the state.)
I can’t even find it in Austin right now. It was everywhere on the re-release, but it’s all been snatched up.
I’m guessing the demand is outstripping the production and they can’t get it on the shelves fast enough.
The brewery is only an hour and a half away. Maybe I can get a case or two fresh off the line* :).
- I’m sure TABC won’t let me do that
Yum…Shiner 97 is great. Viva la schwarzbier!
Coming to Chicago? We gots it!
I’m going to go and try and find some of this tomorrow.
