Shodan Marks Women's Day With A Breast Cancer Joke

I mean, trollish comments by the jagoff aside, who thinks he has a point of some sort, I guess, there’s an entire fucking month dedicated to men’s health issues, so you can’t pull this “what about us guys” sort of shit that assholes like to do.

Holy fuck. And the outrage just keeps multiplying. Grow a pair guys. This is not a joking matter. Ever. Got. It?

Shodan should apologize. As well as a few more.

It’s November 19th. Now shut the fuck up and/or blow it out your ass sideways.

Indeed. I actually like Shodan as a poster. He may be infuriating and obstinate, but I think his heart is generally in the right place, even if we’re fairly on opposite sides politically. I think he’s somebody I’d get along with fine IRL. But, man, that comment. WTF? I like dark humor and gallows humor but, seriously. Just not cool.

World Toilet Day
Do we get to leave the seat up?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No.

Really?

Maybe it’s not in modern lexicon but it used to be. I remember folks laughing about the name “whoppers” for malted milk candy because of the name.

As for the joke in the OP, I had a beloved aunt who had (and eventually died from) breast cancer. She would have laughed at it. She had a sharp, sarcastic, even obscene sense of humor, especially about herself and her predicament. She also wasn’t one to be always looking for something to be offended by.

Tell that “joke” to your wife and get back to us.

Naaa, leave it down, but give it a nice fresh coat of white paint before you leave. You know, so it’s clean.

Says the boob. At least the boob posted in a thread about boobs.

Oh, come on. Making a joke about yourself is one thing. Someone making an unsavory comment about some women’s anatomy that may or may not kill and has to surgically removed in a gory and horrible way and have the gall to think it’s funny. That’s all kinda wrong. And this is not Breast cancer awareness, it’s National Women’s day. Remember that Mother, Sister, Aunt or daughter in your life, would you make that joke about them?

I mean I would…or at least a less dumb/more funny one in the similar vein…but that’s because I got my sense of humor from them. They’d get it. However, I get that Shodan may have had poor timing in a serious thread. I got a warning for being a jerk for a poorly timed abortion joke, so I can understand this pitting.

Yes, we all know people who laugh in the face of death and relish in self-deprecating jokes. But being offended by a joke about something that can and does kill many people doesn’t qualify as “looking for something to be offended by.” I mean, seriously, fucking hell. My father had prostate cancer and he got through it. He’s a tough-as-nails-Vietnam-War-Vet and I would never in a million years think of making a joke about his predicament. If he did, sure, fine. It’s his prerogative. But me? Fuck no. It’s not funny. His twin brother died of that shit. He relished in gallows humor, too, and treated the whole thing like it was no big deal. But it fucking sucked. It’s not something to joke about.

Yeah, it’s one thing when someone from an “in group” makes a ripping comment. It’s entirely something else when a
misogynist does. Hence, Shodan can never pull it off.

Fuck that nonsense. Everything in life is a joking matter. I even laughed at the joke in question, though I appear to be in the minority on that. And yes, i would tell this joke to my female relatives. Get over yourself.

If the joker were about death, I’d say that everyone dies and we get to joke about death. But jokes about other people having body parts removed due to disease? That’s getting a little too close to the bone.

Stop it, you!

For those that haven’t been back to that thread yet, he went back and apologized for the joke.

I’ll be honest, while Shodan’s joke was in poor taste, what struck me was Flyer’s apparently earnest MRA bs about when do we men get a day cause we way better than females anyway.

And that’s from a woman who is well aware my breasts may be plotting against me even as we speak- many, many female relatives with breast cancer, and at least one who was much younger than I am now.

Shodan apologizes.
