The school shooting in Jonesboro Arkansas and the DC sniper come to mind. There probably aren’t too many more. I suspect - and I can cite nothing to back this up - that police automatically look for multiple shooters as a precaution and that this gets reported.
There were thesetwo kids, in 1998. Extremely pre-meditated plan and I’m surprised they didn’t end up killing more people, especially considering they were using scope-sighted deer rifles. Both were released from custody for those murders, but according to the wiki, Johnson went back to prison for theft and drug possession charges. To the best of my knowledge, Andrew Golden is still walking around.

There is some speculation that people saw the armed good guys looking for the bad guy.
Domestic bases basically already are aside from MP/Shore Patrol and people guarding vital equipment. Military personnel do not walk around armed, as we saw today and in 2009.

I’ve never gotten the “peaceful Buddhist” meme. I’ve seen some godawful atrocities committed by Thai Buddhists over here, them burning down half of Bangkok three years ago not even close to the biggest. Then there are the Burmese Buddhists next door hunting down and butchering Muslims.
