No, it’s not. If it were considered humane it would be listed as an approved method for humane euthanasia. It is not.

…Is this thread supposed to register concern about Alaska’s wolves, or is it a thinly veiled attempt to cast Gov. Palin in a poor light? The answer is pretty clear.

1.I don’t like the idea of shooting animals in a way that makes clean, one shot, humane kills unlikely.

2. I don’t know, but still wonder, if this is a situation where rich folks fly up to Alaska, get in a small plane, go blast a few wolves and get back to the city in time for a late dinner at the club. Are outfitters offering wolf blasting outings as a business?

3. I detest Palin aside from this issue.

4. I like wolves.

So, for me the answer is yes.

No person the least bit familiar with wildlife agencies would think that a person could have a 34 year career in the field in Alaska and not be knowledgeable about wolves, salmon, polar bears and other species native to that State.

Commissioner Lloyd has a long and distinguished career in resource management and research in Alaska. He has worked for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) and other resource management agencies in the state since 1974, serving in a number of positions in many parts of Alaska.

I can’t help it if you don’t like what it says. I really do think you would be better served to limit your commenting to areas in which you have at least some limited knowledge.
