Shop class no no’s Shorts, long hair and giant prosthetic boobs?

How fucking ironic that your little porn fantasy is moderated as NSFW, yet some of y’all are defending the shop teachers right to wear nearly the same damn thing to her teaching job in a high school.

Did you miss that the linked picture was the cover of a porn DVD? She’s also not wearing a shirt or pants.
I’m not entirely sure where I land in this debate, but if a straight, cis female teacher with ‘average’ sized breasts showed up dressed like that, it almost certainly wouldn’t be allowed. Even male teacher showing up in boxers and an undershirt would, I assume, get in trouble.

Also keep in mind that the woman on the porn DVD dressed like that and had her picture taken specifically to sexually arose people in exchange for money. The teacher, I’m assuming, didn’t have that goal in mind when someone took a picture of her.

Regarding this part of your post

Show me how the shop teacher and the woman on the cover of the DVD are wearing 'nearly the same damn thing.
If you think they are, I’d challenge you to go to work in your underwear and see what happens.

I have specified what I know several times, including in my last reply to you. Allow me to quote myself:

If you are confused as to what the story as reported is… read the news articles, I didn’t think I had to repeat that. The story is what the person in the photos is teaching at Oakville Trafalgar High School, in shop class, and the school board has refused to comment any further. There have been some piddly little protests outside the school. That is all that has been reported and all we know.

So everything in this is accurate based on people you’ve spoken to:

Just trying to make this easier before someone asks, “Which articles?”

That article is highly inaccurate, it repeatedly refers to her as a male and he.

So you meant to say ginormously inflated boobs with nipples the size of hubcaps have a different connotation when it’s on a public school employee vs a model on the cover of a porn video? It’s only porn if it’s modeled intentionally, otherwise it’s just freaky Friday on the job.

That shouldn’t be too surprising… Normal-sized natural breasts also have different connotations on public school employees and on the covers of porn videos.

You may want to step back and consider why this bothers you so much. I cannot believe that level of obsession is healthy.

The wolf you feed is the wolf that grows. Feed enough hate, and you lose personal agency, living in a world of misery and bitterness, lashing out at anyone not as consumed with hatred as yourself.

For someone like chela, it’s too late, they can’t help themselves, they are too far gone, they have no control over their actions anymore. For the rest of us, it’s a cautionary tale.

Well yes, it was written by a bunch of disgusting transphobic bigots. The whole web site is devoted to ignorance and hatred.

I was wondering if RickJay was confirming the facts in the article, not the opinions.

This is what one of my favorite YouTubers has to say about it. (SFW) The comments are interesting, too.

I meant what I wrote. If you’re confused about something or want to know if I would agree with some other statement, you can simply ask me. But don’t act like I misspoke and you were just innocently clarifying my post to reflect what I meant to say. IOW, don’t put words in my mouth.

I noticed you didn’t answer my question. You said the shop teacher and the woman on the DVD cover are wearing “nearly the same damn thing”. Could you explain what you mean by that?

So, this guy claims that he’s breaking into a shop and is going to steal some cat food. And he’s openly homophobic. I don’t see why anyone would trust his opinion on anything.

:person_shrugging:

I stopped watching when I got to the Meet Steven Hannah part.

I have, and i am still confused. Which is why i asked you for clarification.

Which is why i asked if you intended to confirm that you had personal knowledge of these three points:

By “tits” i meant “nipples”. Maybe that was unclear.

Anyway, i think you’ve confirmed the first two. You’ve been silent on the third. That seemed like a relevant point, since at least some posters thought that looked photoshopped.

But whatever. Honestly, i don’t care much about this story, which just seems like an excuse to be nasty. Let the school deal with whatever the school is actually facing.

What is it you like about this guy? The transphobia? The Puritanical views? The general asshole-ishness?

I’ve watched quite a few of his videos, and do not consider him trans- or homophobic; he just thinks it’s a private thing. Most of his videos are him going to cemeteries, or other points of interest, and commenting on them.

Let’s go back to our regularly scheduled programming.

That’s about how far I got, then I looked at [the titles of] his other videos and they seemed to be similar.

Then why make a youtube video about it? The whole point of something being private is that you don’t broadcast it to the unwashed masses.

If your gender and who your partner is were private, we wouldn’t have gendered pronouns and titles (Mr., etc.) And we wouldn’t have public weddings.

I really can’t remember the rules from the shop class we had to take many years ago. I remember the teacher was missing two fingertips. I think people with long hair had to tie it back or wear a hairnet or something. I can’t remember any of my teachers wearing shorts, even in university. I’m not against it in appropriate circumstances, but my teachers did not wear them.

I think teachers, in general, should stick to teaching subjects they know something about. I’m not sure I think any teacher should be “a brilliant troll”. Teachers can certainly be who they are, especially if it isn’t harming anyone else, in private and are entitled to private lives like everyone.

But at work itself, there may be expectations for what they wear and how they should act. These may on occasion be unreasonable or pointless or arbitrary, but they might also exist for good reasons, and common sense precautions are certainly emphasized in shop. So Lecce’s (the Minister) approach does not seem surprising to me. The gender issues here are irrelevant to me, but without them would this have received the publicity it did? Why is this still a daily news item? It has been reported in all of Canada’s newspapers - including the good ones that would taken pains to ensure some degree of accuracy. Give Rick Jay a break.
