I always thought Nick Chavez was really good. OTT, yes. But aren’t most male hairdressers? Chaz Dean makes me want to eat all the glu-ens ever baked, and What the f*** is bamboo water? It has none of the things Chaz insists it contains.
I think Nick Chavez is to hair products what Dimitri James is to skin care. Both are very passionate about their products. I have used both of their products and like both. Remember the good old flocker demos Nick would do. Had the models put their heads between their legs and spray on the flocker and voila big hair:D
Beauty Taint, QVC hasn’t totally made Lisa a non-person yet. They still have her “Farewell” post in the Community section, and the goodbye posts some of the other hosts made to her are still in the Blogs section of Community.
I checked out the brand new Meet Our Hosts page. Most of those photos are very flattering, especially Antonella, Mary Beth, Pat, Jacque and Shawn. I wish I could get the name of QVC’s photographer! LOL. I’m not photogenic, and I’d pay a bunch of bucks to get that good a photo of myself. However, it would probably be a hopeless task. The QVC hosts were photogenic to begin with, or they wouldn’t have been hired to work on-air.
Wonder what Lisa is doing today? If I were her, I’d be padding around in sockfeet to get over wearing those high heels all evening, and a baggy comfy sweatshirt to recover from that tight dress with the high underarm seams. That dress probably left red marks all over her torso.
Apparently, her friend Karen threw a brunch for her today.
Q didn’t want to do anything “special” for her. The “Posh Party” was done the same as it’s been since it was begun à few years ago. Just a few farewells added.
Yeah, brunch wàs apparently thrown at La’s home, with all the usual suspects present plus Laura G.
That tells me, they fired her Zunino wrapped butt.
I just flipped by SHQP and they are showing Anuschka bags. I rarely ever watch that channel, so these are new to me. They are quite pretty aren’t they? There was a gorgeous purple bag with an exotic bird on it, and another with a hummingbird that I loved. But yikes, they’re expensive!
The workplace griping thread and the monthly minirants threads provide a sort of pitlite experience as posters are, in general, not targeting each other.
Thanks for the glossary. I thought you might enjoy this shopping channel presentation from Britain’s version of The Apprentice.
Lisa is famous outside the shopping channel world, lol. E Online carried an article about her last night on QVC:
Dec. 14, 2014, “QVC Host Lisa Robertson gets emotional during the final show, thanks shoppers for 20 great years.”
E didn’t interview Lisa, but they checked her Facebook page to see what she was saying. She posted that on her first day after leaving QVC, “I overslept, and it was wonderful.”
If I remember correctly, E also had an article about Lisa when she first announced she was leaving Q. I wonder if she’s quietly been using a publicist to place articles about herself. E Online is one of the major show business tabloids.
I have to say, I’ve been enjoying the SHQP. I would love one of those bags. They’re about $200 over my budget right now. I’ve gotten into Skinn to diminish my laugh lines, and gotten a few tops and jackets in the last few months. So far, I’m happy with everything.
Usually go out on Football Sunday and make a day of it with friends at a local watering hole, but already suffering from a bit if the ol’ Tie-one-on Flu from an Xmas party last night. :smack:
Anyhoo…tuned in to ITKWD for a few before my game started. Got to see him make some kind of gingerbread dip that looked and sounded like something contestants on Fear Factor would have been forced to eat. Blurggghhhh. Wondering now if I should have picked up a few of his cookbooks for Gifts of Spite. Or maybe I’m being too hard on the Q’s “resident foodie” 'cause I’m not a fan of gingerbread anything?
Holy crap it’s quiet in here today. I hope that’s just because of football. I saw that gingerbread dip too BT. I looked like dog food. But we know Yum Yum isn’t too picky. I mean, look at the size of him. If you mixed it with mac & cheese, he would have given it a happy dance, happy dance.
Morticia is on now with D&B. Those bags are a huge bunch of blah for me.
Heh. I bought some of the 613 intense cleansing conditioner and was amused to get a letter from QVC about it. Apparently they were concerned that the presentation might have made me think 613 is all-natural and grows hair. QVC assured me it does not have documentation that it is all-natural, and it does not grow hair. :smack:
Hi there, Honey! Thanks so much for starting this thread! Anuschka handbags have been on SHQP for several years. I purchased a few bags over the years - and they are quality handbags with beautiful and unique hand painted artwork. One of my favorites is a design called “Tiger in Love” - an image of a Tiger’s head surrounded by red roses. I have a crossbody in this design. So many different designs to choose from! I agree about the prices, but some bags go on sale from time to time. And I’m looking forward to the new changes to SHQP coming in the future, especially Kathy Levine making appearances there!
Prefacing by saying that I’m happy that WEN works for you.
But shit like this is why I hate that faux yogi chimp. He is always pushing the line wrt making claims for his products that he can’t legally make. As do many cosmetic companies / reps in some ways, but he seems to be particularly egregious in that respect, IMO.
Like the time I heard him say he can’t make any claims about ingredients x,y,z in a lotion (IIRC) he was selling. But “you all know what x,y,z is supposed to do, so…” Wink. Wink. Nudge. Nudge. He’s making a shit ton of money off that goo. PAY FOR SOME REAL TESTING if you want to say it. Oh, unless he’s FOS, maybe? Hmmmm? And not the kind of testing like when LaOrange said “we REALLY tested it!” And he replied “Yeah, I sent Lisa a lot of samples.” Yeah. Real scienmentifical testerizing, right there. Doosh.
Ok, end rant!
That gingerbread dip looked like what I found in my son’s diaper after feeding him a combo of strained beets and yams. Yuck.
Honestly, that other place is a lost cause. Now they’re even admonishing people for things they admit haven’t even happened yet.
Ugh, Philosophy again on QVC. I’m sorry, but that OAP is way too dumpy for me to ever feel inspired to try those products. And the hands in the bowl of suds for the entire presentation! Philosophy makes a lot of lather. Okay, we get it already. Sheesh.
P.S. I love the Anuschka (bet I spelled that wrong) handbags too. I wonder how well they hold up to wear and weather though?
Thanks for the validation on the gingerbarf dip. Blurrgghh. Only on the Q would somebody so enamored of Dump dinner “recipes” and such have the balls crow about being a “foodie”.
Philosophy reeks, IMO. At least the ones I’ve smelled at B&M stores. One quick whiff was seriously like being punched in the face. And I’m not sensitive to scent, or anything. Not to mention ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ presentation wise, especially for hours on end as they flove to do.
So switched over to HSN, and am listening to Adrian Arpel. She’s a kook, but I heart her. I would love to go to lunch with her or something. I bet she’d tell you all kinds of awesome stories about all the losers she had to blow to get her products into stores back in the day. Lol
