Honey…Kendy is tall, with LOTS of long blond hair that is really a weird color. Kind of horsey looking. She used to be on QVC and switched to whatever Evine was before it was the last two names :).
Speaking of odd blond hair…have you guys seen Angel’s hair? Quacker Factory Angel. It looks like she colored it herself. It has that brassy blond look you get sometimes when you color your hair and don’t know what you’re doing. Not that I’ve ever done that :).
No kidding about Angel’s hair. Yowza. Wandered by and saw very tan person with scarecrow blond hair… didn’t even recognize her. 
Lol I thought Angel’s hair looked better the last time I saw her! I wasn’t noticing the color so much as that it seems to have more volume and more style. I could never understand how Angel got to be a model because her hair always looked SO bad to me – very thin and flat on her head. Thought someone on the Q would have helped her with that.
Jennifer Coffey (who I can’t stand) and some OAP were showing an indoor/outdoor rug. The OAP is trying to claim how stain resistant the rug is, by showing a dried ketchup stain on a small sample of the rug. She scrubs and scrubs the stain and it’s still there of course. So what does she do? The next time she dips it in the water, she turns it to the backside and voila, the stain is gone. Do these people think we’re stupid? :dubious:
QVC host Alberti Popaj is getting married. Apparently this topic is a no-no on both QVC and PTV forums because it’s a gay marriage – his fiancé is Bret Boreman. It was mentioned on PTV but posters seem to be afraid to discuss it. They said that threads on the QVC forum about the marriage have been deleted.
PTV posters said Alberti & partner had a gift registry on Bloomingdale’s webste. I tried to look it up from the only Google result, registry.theknot.com, which was supposed to take you to the Bloomingdale’s listing, but I got a 404 error. Has this issue become so sensitive that they felt they had to break the link?
I just thought it was interesting that QVC makes such a huge deal out of their hosts’ weddings, as long as it’s a traditional straight wedding, but if it’s a gay wedding there is complete silence. Guess QVC feels they can’t use coverage of a gay wedding to sell products. However, they have no problem with Shawn using cancer stories to sell stuff.
Coffeecup, that upsets me for Alberti. The Q has taken full advantage of his knowledge and interest in ‘women’s’ things like clothing, accessories, and makeup. So they’ve made use of his gayness where it suited them, but are shoving the wedding under the rug out of what is most likely their feelings that it will accept Mrs. Customer. People aren’t stupid and it’s ridiculous to treat us that way. We can make the quantum leap from Alberti’s interest in makeup to the fact that he isn’t marrying a girl.
Unless Alberti himself specifically requested that they stay out of it - and in fairness, maybe he did after seeing the spectacle that they made out of Courtney’s wedding - I imagine his feelings would be very hurt by this.
I despise two-faced people or organizations, for that matter. This is just not right.
It’s ridiculous! Isaac talks about his husband all the freaking time and they don’t shut him up. Obviously his stuff sells well anyway. SMH
Well, I finally took the plunge on Evine and ordered the handbag that was the TSV (whatever they call it over there) yesterday. Mostly leather and crazy cheap. The brand gets good reviews too. I ordered the “jade” color (which looks more like mint to me). I have an outfit based on mint and teal and I think it’ll look good with it.
If you go to Bret Boreman’s FB page it shows him moving to West Chester PA in 2014 and getting married 11/30/14. There are lots of pictures with him and Alberti. Looks like they moved to PA together from LA and they have been together over 8 years. There was also a picture of them on Lisa R.'s FB page from that wedding she went to last weekend.
So, looks like he is already married.
And I look like some kind of stalker :).
When this was first brought up on PTV I searched and found the registry link you mention and the partner’s name etc. and it had a current wedding date of July 1, 2015 and it wasn’t a broken link. Fact is, I browsed all the china and paraphernalia etc. they are registered for. Weird that it’s broken now.
Antoinella is doing the Vicenza Italian jewelry shows from Padua. This used to be Lisa Robertson’s big fancy gig. Ant is such a pleasant change! She’s so down to earth. The sets are better too, casual café type places instead of a stone bench in a formal garden.
The Italian shows had gotten predictable and laughable with Lisa. She’d wear designer gowns with bodices so tight she must have had trouble breathing, and sit straight on that stone bench for hours. Her back must have been killing her by the end of her shift. She always used her “golf channel” voice, quiet and subdued, as if she was awestruck by the Italian jewelry. Antoinella is speaking in her normal voice, laughing, wearing ordinary dressy outfits and having a good time.
Wish the jewelry was good. I just went through the entire Recent Items list for the day, and most of the jewelry they’re selling is Bronzo Italia and Oro Nuovo (gold plating over silicone core). There are very few actual solid 14K items. You could count the 14K items on your fingers and not even need all the fingers. I saw just one 18K piece. They had a few nice sterling pieces.
Also they have delayed shipment until Sept. 19 on many items. That would be a deal breaker for me. There are lots of other retail sources for solid gold and gold plated jewelry that you could order and receive in a few days.
Agree on loving Antonella and the change of pace/atmosphere! She looks great tonight (Sunday) too!
That’s not quite what Oro Nuovo is. It’s basically electroform using silicone instead of wax. That gives it more durability than regular electroform since the silicone stays and the wax is drained away leaving a hollow piece. I still didn’t buy any though. I did see some bronzo pieces I liked, and may go back and get. I put a bunch of stuff on my wishlist, however. Bronzo and silver stuff mostly.
She seemed to be having such a good time. Her enthusiasm is contagious. I didn’t buy one thing, but enjoyed watching.
About Oro Nuovo, I think it depends on the quality (thickness) of the electroform. Years ago in the “old gold” days, electroform jewelry was pretty thick. I have some pieces from those days (bought from what was called ShopNBC then), and they are heavy and sturdy, even though they are hollow. I think the electroform made today is much thinner, since gold is so expensive, and it needs the silicone core to keep it from denting with normal wear.
Manufacturers are making silver jewelry thinner too. I just got a long silver necklace from QVC. They didn’t give the gram weight on the website, but based on the photo, video and high price, I was expecting a necklace of 10 to 15 grams at the least. When I received it, it felt featherweight. I doubt if it is even 5 grams. But the price had been deeply discounted for a clearance sale, so I don’t feel ripped off.
Yeah, gold jewelry today is thin and light. I’m not buying any until the price comes back down, LOL! Even hollow or filled pieces are crazy high. Not worth it to me.

I kinda like Amy. If I were 900 years younger and a hundred pounds lighter I’d probably dress like she does :). But what gets me is her speech. Cawed for called. Hode for hold. Etc. Someone says she has a speech impediment. So how does someone with a speech impediment become a host on tv? Affirmative action? What? I say she’s got balls just trying out for the job.
My nomination for easiest host to watch: Pam James DeMentri. I’ve always liked her but she went through something and she seemed kind of Stepford Wife-ish. Now the old Pat is back. She’s pleasant, likable, doesn’t kiss up to Isaac and he seems to enjoy her too. I just like Pat.
I don’t know where Amy is from, but as an avid watcher of the Food Network, Katie Lee talks just like that and she’s from the West Virginia area. Maybe a regional dialect?
