It really depends on the reasons. If you physically can’t have a child the traditional way, and you are in a stable committed relationship then go for it. If you are single and just want a kid without the hassle of a relationship, then you are being selfish and I would say nay.
However if you do go ahead with the dad in a tube approach and just want to have a memorable sexual experience t o associate with getting pregnant although it actually doesn’t result in the conception, then I’ll try and help you out.
For the purpose of this discussion assume the women is in a stable, committed relationship with a man who shoots blanks.
If the man will love him as much as you will, 2, 5, 10, years down the road then by all means do it.
If you are not that sure about the man and/or aren’t quite willing to raise a child by yourself then wait.
