I hadn’t read any advance information or watched previews about this new show and it took me a little bit to catch on with the concept, but I got some good laughs out of it. Some of the bits I had already heard the comics do in other formats, but they were still funny in animated form.
I didn’t like it. Animating stand up comedy kills the joke. Not only does it rub the humor in our faces, but it steals much of the comic’s delivery, since we can’t see their faces.
Plus they were way too short.
We set Tivo to record it, specifically because we heard a Brian Regan bit on one of the commercials for it. Haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.
Sorry to bump, but they’re rerunning the episode…
The laugh track should be turned down - it’s becoming too large a part of the experience.
New jokes/bits would be nice. I believe all of these are from standup acts that have been shown on CC already.
This might be one of the cheapest shows CC’s done yet. They already owned all of the material (save the “baby” material, which bridges the comic bits), after all.
It doesn’t work. The baby bits are boring and unfunny. Colin Quinn’s friends don’t deserve their own show. The stand up in short bits is good… why don’t they bring back Short Attention Span Theater?
I kind of enjoyed the premier episode but quickly lost interest the following week.
I like it more than I expected to. I like the animation style, and the comedy bits have been pretty good when they aren’t the ancient, overplayed ones like Gareafolo’s cake bit and John Pinnet’s buffet bit. They were good bits, but damn. In the last decade you couldn’t find anything as funny but not as overplayed?
