Should Biden select a different VP in the next Election?

There are 73 million Boomers alive, and they vote. That is more people than voted for either trump or Biden in 2020. The Boomers are by no means done.

Where do you get these “facts”?

I hate to agree with Crowmanyclouds, but he is totally correct here.

But dont worry, CMC, I have grave doubts about ANY of his “facts”. So far, they have been 100% wrong.

Its down about the same amount the white vote is. Voters don’t want trump, but they are still thinking there may be some perfect white knight unicorn candidate out there. There aint, and the real choice is Biden or trump. Once the electorate realizes this, the polls will turn back to Biden. It is usual for an incumbent to have popularity issues halfway thru.

People are listening to the three BIG LIES of the GOP:
The economy is terrible! (it’s great actually)
“Crime is out of control!” (the crime rate is very low.
“Open Borders!!!” (false)

I know it’s not really useful arguing with split_p_j here, but this all bear repeating.

No more than white people or brow people or yellow people. She was a good prosecutor.

I want a unicorn that shits soft serve ice cream.

Ask, and you shall receive . . .

Rainbow flavors too!

No, if you read this thread, we’ve made that point repeatedly since pretty much the start. And backed that up.

Where is the racist part in that? How is that relevant to this discussion?

Someplace in the world was racist so it matters who the VP running-mate is in the next US election?

Not seeing the link.

Well, I mean as long as there are rumors about “the other”, we should just go ahead and build a wall to keep them out. Maybe a lynching or a pogrom or two to show them their place.

Joe Biden received 81,283,501 votes in 2020.

I don’t know if the boomers are done, but their political influence is probably already waning, and will continue to do so.

I think the worry is the young people who turned out big time in 2020 can’t be relied upon to do so in 2024.

Remember, Trump got the second most votes in history in 2020. His voters are more likely to show up at the polls.

I’ll take some solace that this is going to be the absolute last presidential campaign where we’ll have to hear about what the candidates did or didn’t do during the Vietnam War.

I’ve heard that as well; I guess we’ll see. I did want to correct @DrDeth’s assertion about the number of votes in 2020. Trump also got more than 73 million.

Well, I was close.

You’re right, i was thinking 2016 trump vs Clinton. The votes increased quite a bit for 2020.

So if Biden dumps Harris he’ll win some votes and lose some. And if he keeps her, he’ll win some votes and lose some others. No one said there would be math….

I don’t understand the syllogism “Democrats don’t care about black people, therefore I won’t vote, thus ensuring that Republicans who actively want to murder black people get elected”.

Nose, spite, face.

Even if true, it’s highly unlikely dumping Harris from the ticket would reverse the trend. And that’s the point of this thread.

It looks like you wanted to make one last dig at an entire group.

Now they are polling us.

MSNBC poll from 08/05/24. Harris support is 81% among Black Americans, up from Bidens low of 73%. But still nearly 10% down from the numbers of Bidens win in 2020.

This thread was 8 months old and pretty meaningless now to bump.
