Well, it’s Saturday, and I’m sitting by myself in the office, trying to get everything done that I need to before I head to NY for Thanksgiving week. I’ve got some music playing, I’m wearing jeans, no one is around… I’m enjoying myself. Except…
I am so hungry! I skipped breakfast, and I don’t want to leave and come back (it’d take too much time), but I am starving! Damn I wish I had gone to pick up a sandwich on the way here like I had planned.
I hope I didn’t blow it. My doctor told me to avoid all spicy foods. But that was a couple of months ago, so it’s okay… right?
I couldn’t resist. I had to have some Indian food. I went down to the local take-out and got seekh kabab. With garlic naan and some of that green chutney. While it was cooking I went to the Indian market and got some skinny (Thai?) chilis. (I only bought a small handful, so they let me have them gratis! What nice guys!) Well, the beef was spiced of course. I’ve been avoiding spices, so I got some sweat under my eyes. I’ll wait on the chilis. (Actually, I plan to cut the seeds out and plant them; or give them to a friend to plant.)
I hope the Zantac I took this morning works throughout the day…
(FWIW, I did have two very large cups of dark Swedish coffee. The doc told me to cut out caffeine too, but I’ve never reduced my intake of my beloved “vitamin C”.)
Alas, I would have to then deal with going downstairs and waiting for the pizza/whatever guy to let him/her in. It’s just too much bother to sit down there for 15 minutes when I should be here working (or posting!)… plus, then I’d have to make conversation with the sketchy security guard.
