I’ve been in a lunch food rut for years…every work day, a sandwich of deli meat and lettuce on whole wheat, with a side of yogurt. It’s getting old, but I haven’t found anything better yet. What have you got?
Taco John’s Honey Habanero Baja Wings and Potato Oles.
Black Bean Burger with a side of roasted squash left over from dinner.
Tomato Basil Soup
Chili and cornbread
Just a few recent actual lunches for me.
Leftover chicken/vegetable/barley stew.
Homemade bean and cheese burrito.
Cold rare steak with green salad.
Tuna salad served with Ak-Mak whole wheat sesame crackers.
Bought some olive bread at the supermarket bakery the other day along with some farmer cheese. Just finished off the last of it for lunch.
Leftover cornbread and black beans (from Wednesday’s dinner).
Lunch fish ie., tuna sandwich.
Lunch is almost always leftovers. That’s what they’re for.
Roasted leeks, roasted mushroom and gruyere quiche.
I can’t take cold lunches in the winter. Gotta be soup and hardboiled eggs or leftovers! But I think the OP is in Florida so it’s not too cold
Oh, I love leftovers, but then what do you eat for dinner on Friday night?
Leftover pizza. Deep-dish, Chicago style.
Unless I have leftovers, I usually bring a sandwich for lunch. Today it was ham and cheese on wheat bread and a Honeycrisp apple. I really wanted potato chips out of the vending machine, or even better, a bag of Cheez-Its, but I ate the apple.
I keep a can of mixed nuts in my desk, and if I don’t have a sandwich, sometimes I’ll eat a big handful of nuts for lunch. (Because I have discovered through experimentation that if I eat only Cheez-Its for lunch, I will start to feel really yucky at about 4:00 in the afternoon.)
Unfortunately, the leftovers in the fridge today are destined for tonight’s dinner, so I’m having to improvise. I ended up with a mini-tangerine, Red Dragon cheese, 2 year old cheddar cheese, some hot soppressata and Wasabi almonds. Not bad.
Girlfriend of Awesomeness[sup]®[/sup] made chicken noodle soup. She actually made the noodles. From scratch. It never even occurred to me that that was something people did.
Man, that was some damn good soup.
A Thermosful of chili. Yeah, there’s a microwave in the office, but the Thermos keeps it plenty warm until lunchtime. Along with a bag of tortilla chips and an orange or a banana, and that’s a lunch.
