What's for lunch ?

Ok … perhaps I’m a tad bit nosey, but it also provides some good ideas how to mix it up a bit with your own lunch choices.

My lunch choice today is a basic salad (lettuce, cukes, cherry tomatoes and salami) with Lighthouse Bleu Cheese dressing.

Nothing. My job is sufficiently sedentary that I only eat two meals a day.

Still deciding. Could get a sandwich or something from the cafeteria, or I could just get a package of ramen from my car. Regretting putting back the leftover wings and fried rice I had taken out of the fridge this morning, but I guess I’ll have that for dinner tonight.

Anywhichawho I’ll probably just have a smoothie. I’m not a big lunch person.

Cocktail shrimp with sauce! Perfect after an hour working in my garden on a very hot day!

Think I’ll have a mango shake now! MmmmmM

I had the last of the leftover southwest chicken corn chowder I made the other night. (I have more that’s in the freezer, but that’s for some night where I don’t feel like cooking OR going out to eat.)

I get free food once or twice a week at work and today was wraps. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and a pack of mixed nuts.

The cafeteria menu promised Mushroom Bisque, so I was all fired up for a bowl of soup.

But they lied! It’s chicken noodle!

I was so upset I decided to console myself with hummus and carrot sticks.

Bagel (toasted) with cream cheese.

Went to Brueger’s Bagels, bought an egg salad, bacon, arugula, and red pepper on chibatta sandwich with a small bag of BBQ kettle chips. Yum.

I bought a sandwich that they called the “Turkey Dinner”. It was Turkey bacon and cheese with cranberry spread. Really yummy.

Leftover biscuits and sausage gravy. Freshly-scrambled eggs with salsa.

Tomato soup with a portion of baguette.

Steak and kidney pie with green beans, carrots, chips* and gravy.

*I’m English. You chaps across the pond call them ‘fries’.

6" tuna sub with pickles and green peppers.

I cut up the half a steak I had left over from last night’s dinner and it’s simmering nicely in a big pot of veggies and various spices.

I’m having vegetable beef soup!! :smiley:

Butter chicken curry over rice, and the proverbial “diet soda” (Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi, in this case).

Chicken Spinach Alfredo pizza from Pizza Palace.

Small Caesar salad with anchovies, and a mini chicken/spinach/artichoke pizza from Amici’s.

Homemade peanut butter cookie for dessert.

Bumped to say I wanted something different for lunch, so had cheesy pasta with homemade Parmesan sauce & strawberry applesauce… a grownup version of a kiddie lunch… delish!

Chicken stew and tater tots. I put the tots in the oven Sunday night, then let them cool and combined them with the stew (which has a good mix of veggies in it) in a pint mason jar.

Took the jar out of the work fridge and nuked it. :slight_smile:
