Now I’m starting to wonder if there IS something up with that VP. That’s really weird. Personally, I would find him and personally confront him as soon as I could (he can’t avoid you now), but that’s just me. I would have to know what his deal was. I have an inability to let things like that go.

This VP dude is all kinds of shady. On the email the chief sent me, the principal at SOTA was copied in, but not the VP. Hmmm. They know he was wrong.

At the risk of sounding paranoid, I’d be really leery about continuing to confront that VP, myself. You’ve gotten what you want - your daughter in the school.
I don’t trust that VP, and would be very concerned about giving him a reason to make getting your daughter back out of the school his personal project. Would it be petty, unreasonable, and even evil? Hell, yes. That doesn’t mean he’s not capable of it. He’s already responded in a couple of ways that leave me questioning his integrity and his ability to separate the personal and the professional.
(A caveat: I do not trust school administrators, as a general rule. This attitude of mine is based on personal experience, and may not be a good fit for the general case. I figure you ought to know where my advice is coming from, so you may judge whether you care to follow it, or not.)
OK, can I just say that I am having an exceptionally shitty week, up there in the great pantheon of shitty weeks as weeks go in fact, and this has seriously made my day. Seriously.

Wow, just read the whole thread now. $10 says the VP ain’t the VP within a year. That’s pretty much gross incompetence as well as a lot of ass-saving stuff going on.

Orientation is tonight. If I see the VP, I know that the best fuckyou to him is a big grin on me and my kid’s face. Nothing more needed.
My baby just called me all giddy with excitement. I had to leave work early to get ready for orientation…the kid will be here in a minute and we can walk up there.
Heh, I never knew how affected my husband really was by this until I told him the nightmare is over.

Thanks. I want to correct some things I may have said that I feel bad about now, with a clearer head. I made it seem as if the other schools were trash. Turns out, that’s not true. I spoke to a few people who showed me that Wilson Magnet school has a great advanced placement program and some impressive rankings. I didn’t research that throroughly before slandering the other schools.
For my kid, SOTA absolutely is the choice.
