Did I say I was doing this by myself? This “competition” is me alone. There will be no other wheelchair competitors at this bodybuilding show. There is a wheelchair division and I will be the only competitor in that division. I do this for myself and what I get out of it.
And yes, I am looking to see if posting the video would garner much “attention”; I am seeking to “validate” my idea of posting it. So I guess you are right.
I’m truly sorry if I misunderstood whatever it was that I misunderstood. I was trying to convey that you need to do what’s best for you, that’s all. I’m on your side here, Jamie.
I have plenty of experience with Imitrex and those kinds of medications (I forget the name of the type); they unfortunately are completely uneffective on my migraines. I will say that the injection-form of Imitrex did work wonders for me, but only for the first 2 or 3 times I used it. After that, the effectiveness basically disappeared. I can’t explain it. I also had the side effects you had when I used it.
I didn’t mean to sound “snippy”, just saying that my involvement in bodybuilding isn’t really motivated by a desire to compete against others as it is a way for me to accomplish something for myself that is truly difficult.
You know, it’s quite clear you have a very emotional reaction to anything anyone posts that isn’t “Let’s all be friends and hug and kiss and don’t be meeeaaaaan to anyone”. Ever think about putting people you’ve got the buttmads about on ignore and letting other posters deal with shit between themselves?
Ambivalid told me what he thought of what I had to say, I said back to him what I thought about his thoughts. That’s how a messageboard works. I somehow doubt Ambivalid sent you a PM crying that I was mean to him and needed telling off, so I’m wondering what you get out of this exchange? Actually, never mind that. Quick, I think someone’s being mean in the pit. Whiteknight AWAAAAY!
I’m really sorry about your migraines. I suffered with them for years, but with no particular trigger. It sucks that it seems your trigger is the diet you need to be on to get int competition shape. I do hope you are able to figure something out so that you can keep doing what you enjoy without the pain of the migraines.
Hey, Jamie, I mostly participate in your threads as a wisecracker, but clearly, migraines suck, and it double sucks that it’s screwing up your body-building career.
I’m not interesting in bodybuilding so wouldn’t read your proposed thread, but I’m interested in the whole ‘what can I do that’s challenging but doesn’t give me migraines’ discussion.
Is it the physical aspect of bodybuilding that you particularly enjoy? I was thinking maybe you could get involved with new wheelchair users, but that’s probably more a social/helping others out thing, compared to a personal physical challenge thing.
LOL. Ok, ok. I’m not trying to ‘stack up’ as many affirmations as I can before I say I will post it. I will post the video after my show; the show isn’t until Saturday evening.
“I’m interested in the whole ‘what can I do that’s challenging but doesn’t give me migraines’ discussion.”
I never asked this question to anyone, so why did you feel the need to insert it? It wasn’t relevant to anything here.
She was being nice. She found it an interesting topic and was interested in discussing it. She was saying even though body building wasn’t her thing, she found that aspect of your life something she would like to chat about.
You were unnecessarily defensive and rude, I’m afraid.
What the hell is the matter with you? You said you didn’t think you could continue to do this particular hobby due to a problem with migraines. She was being nice, for fucks sake.
