Should I send an email warning about email warnings?

Greetings friend!

I am writing to you to tell you that many people are falling into a trap called ‘gullibility.’ Just because someone forwards an email to you, doesn’t mean it’s true. For instance, you probably forward emails without checking to see if they’re true.

THERE IS AN EASY WAY TO ESCAPE!

  1. Consider ‘is this likely to be true?’
  2. Check it’s true with someone in a position to know.
  3. Ask yourself ‘do people need to know this even if it is true?’

Only then believe and forward it.

MANY PEOPLE HAVE LOST $$$$ BY NOT FOLLOWING THIS ADVICE!

PLEASE FORWARD TO MOST PEOPLE YOU KNOW!

Yours, A well wisher.

Has anyone tried sending an email like this? Did it work? Should I?

Does the end justify the means

(BTW is this in the right forum?)
