For the record, I (female) worked in technical support for a Fortune 100 company for 20 years. My group was typically 50/50 female/male. There are a lot of women in technical jobs.

Agreed. A quick scan through his threads reveals the following general class of topics:
- why everyone should hate women
- defense of rapists
- why women are horrible
- defense of racists and bigots
- why women are evil
- assorted random asshattery
- complaints about how unfairly he was moderated

I and other females have left the SDMB (sometimes temporarily) over unending sexist crap like this. If you want the board to become the Lost Boys Club, keep at it. And then you can post your complaints about never getting laid.
It’s one of those things like Straight Pride Parades and White History Month, where people who are either too stupid to understand the underlying rationale for minority-oriented events or so morally corrupt that they pretend to be that stupid propose what they claim are equivalent events in the name of “fairness” in order to undermine the aforementioned rationales and promote their own bigoted agendas.
There was recently a Day Without Immigrants where immigrants stayed home from work to highlight the important role immigrants play in modern society, and someone has proposed a similar Day Without Women. Our illustrious OP apparently thinks having a Day Without Men would show those uppity women who’s the boss around here because we all know women can’t possibly understand complicated things like computers.
